Le Scarr

It's healing up so fast it's a bit scarey. I am soooo happy. Happiness at this intensity scares the heck out of me. Thanks for all the help! Good thoughts, vibes, and prayers have made this possible. I am doing what Meribeth suggests, knitting bigger needle things. The shelter mats and somemore on the bandages. Whoot!  Posted by Picasa

  1. That looks fantastic -- you do heal fast don't you -- I am amazed at how good it looks.

Enjoy knitting with the big needles -

  3. ooo more mojo and thank you, thanks you Karen! There's a tail of monofilament knotted at the top that is driving me wild. Out of the last five nights I've taken the splint off IN MY SLEEP four times it bothers me so much. Too many houdini movies when I was young.

Zipper tatoo sounds very cute. I'm thinking about it, Trish.

Knitting in only one more week if I am very, very good, Rho

  4. You rock! Fantastic!

How's the swelling? Any pain? Do they recommend warm water soaks? Are you allowed to do anything at home yet?

When you start doing stuff with your hand...don't be surprised if you have to "retrain" it. I know I had to and was rather disturbed that they seemed to not want to obey. I have a feeling that PT will help you with that.

    More vibes on the way!

  5. Meribeth, my PT has asked me to slow down; he keeps reminding me that it's only been two weeks and the little bones aren't healed yet. He's impressed with progress but he's one of the best PTs and he's the boss. Swelling was bad at first but now is minimal, and there is so little pain thus far that I keep waiting for it to hit. This could be because I was already in full fibro flare before all this happened. The fish line sticking out of my wrist is pesky and sore. That I'll be very glad to be rid of. So far no soaks because of the incision not being totally healed. I can't wait to get some hottish soaks in. Ah zee housework. DH scowls at me, and I just go back and lounge around. I'm still on light duty and have to wear the splint all the time. I did scrub bathroom bowls today. Just felt like doing something physical!

There's going to be a good bit of retraining of that hand because I knit right handed. The wrist isn't at all as bendable as it was before. No more "lovely hula hands" here I fear, as it could stay a little stiff.

  6. I cannot believe how good that looks!! Obviously all the healing energy going your way is helping. Continue the good work and don't pick at the stitches O.O It's always the little things that drive us crazy!

  7. Annie, Moi? Pick at stitches? Buhahahaha. *cough* I will be good.... this time.

I'm totally convinced that healing thoughts, prayers and vibes have revved up the healing process.

Today I picked up the socks but the needles are just too small. They felt good laying in my hand though.

  9. Thanks Rissa, it's going well; now if I could just get more sleep while trying to keep myself from ripping out itchy little stitches. hehe

I told my physical therapist about the zipper tattoo and he thought it was a good joke. He's a happy fella. We have fun with him. On the last day, maybe I'll create a "tattoo" of one if it was certain that the permanent marker will come off later. O_o Anyone know? LOL
