Pictures hot off the memory stik follow...
I finally cut through it, the dispicable thing. Then I made a russian join, vertially invisible even on a ribbing, and am knitting again on the Drops Aran. Yay! I have the original source in hard copy for the page for that join but couldn't find it. Darn! I like to put up originals whenever possible.
The short fingered glove fits after being shrunk in very hot water (think tea sort of hot from the microwave) and dried in a medium dryer load. At least if it goes through that at it's new home, we know it can take it. :)
Heel of sock and eye of Newt.. ooops...*cough* Starting new trekker sock today, and a mate to the green glove today if enough size 1 needles can be found. I have about five sets but where are they? They must have heard that summer is near and took themselves off to try a little wool gathering.
I'm thinking of radically changing the colors of that tote. Frankly they all looked yucky in the picture. I think the tote should be made of the wheat colored yarn, or is it better described as "Dead-Plains-Grass-in-Winter" color? Whatever... I think that color, with mere accents of the other colors would be nicer looking. With three green things on the needles, I was trying to avoid greens. Since I like it so much, it's really not going to be out of my life for long. Why are tote color decisions so nerve wracking? I do have a lot of time to adjust colors because that's a next fall project. This is a Aran/Gretchen/Sox summer (summer is almost here, maybe 5 days!
I've discovered, in my reading of translated tracts of Taoist treasures, that "it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all". I'm not sure the Taoist way is for me, other than avoidance of bad news coming out of the stupid administration and other government agencies in a democracy who should know better than to pull the stunts they've been pulling. I'll still stand in the barricades when the time comes but I doubt whether I'll be pulling pins out of grenades and tossing them. I'll in for the banner waving and the getting arrested though. All in a Buddhist detached Way, mind you. You can't leave the young out there to fight all by themselves. That wouldn't be the American way, would it?
what a neat technique, i'll be sure to try it out, thanx for the link!
