Vegan Food Site, and I went to the Peeps site and found this..no I haven't been knitting...Karen I found that plant's Name!

This is Jason's blog and he's such an interesting person.

And, this is one of the reasons why I believe the big, beautiful Universe actually helps us when we most need it.....

I woke up very tired again, and very skeptical that what we do has any affect at all on all the problems that beset our favorite causes. So, I searched outside the normal big three, e-mail, Knitting Review, and my sewing forum, to the Peeps site. Jason's site is a supporting site. I think you will understand right away that it was an answer for me, to keep believing and keep moooooving. (Shake, shake, shake your Bootie) I only wish I was still young and full of energy.

No, I'm not knitting and not sewing, only reading. No, I'm not reading James Carter's newest (it's so depressing), and not the daily news either - that makes you want to order the coffin- but a book called Blessings, by Anna Quindlin. Lovely book. Light reading and Brain Candy at it's best. The three books from Amazon arrived and I'll be reading Vitality Energy Spirit - A Taoist Sourcebook, translated by Thomas Cleary, and Practical Taoism, same translator. I'm quite serious about learning as much as possible about these ancient traditions. I've studied the Book of Changes since before my twins were born, and Taoism is the original basis for the trigrams. I've also bought a delicious book called, Designing with Succulents , by Debra Lee Baldwin, and if you can get a copy from the library you will see what I hope to do with my side yard. This has been my dream ever since living across the street from Cactus Pete's as a wee child.

Karen, the Aeonium arboreum that I have in the blog is the variety called
"Zwartkop", which is, apparently, a Dutch word that I'd only ever heard pronounced, not spelled. That's why I couldn't find it on the web. I was thinking it was a German word.

The night before last DH and I watched "Dream Girls", on DVD. DH wants to buy it. We both love music alot, all kinds of music, and this is a powerful movie about Detroit Sound. You might like it.

The last of the addi needles for Gretchen are in, and after a Hellacious day at the Vet and my Doctor's, I'm going to drive down to look at the ocean, and buy them. Hoping to watch the sunset, Annie. Good for the heart and the soul.

Going to go read. Then get ready for tomorrow. Jazzie's getting an echo cardiogram tomorrow and I'm getting a physical. We will be connected in our hearts and minds, I hope, so that I can calm him down. Poor little Bebe. He will be so frightened. He has a congenital heart murmur, an enlarged heart, but normal bp. We are hoping that little heart keeps beating for at least a few more good years.

L,B,R and S this is a site you will love, love LOVE!

Vegan Yum Yums This is Food styling at it's best and not so pro you can't find things on the market to do it, either.

Well, all the news that's fit to print. And no rant! Whoot!

  1. Sending good thoughts your way for both of you with various tests and check-ups....

I wish I were talented and ambitious (well if truth be told it is more of the last) enough to make those cupcakes tomorrow - it is our last Knitting Circle at the Library until Fall....

  2. Thanks Rho. Very much indeed.

Have a great time at knitting circle and I hear you about ambition. Mine got caught on a nail somewhere and and I lost it. But, plain iced cupcakes would taste rather good. Marzipan really doesn't taste that exciting. How about the banana split cupcakes on that page. whoot!

Anyway, have a great time... =o)

  3. I'm glad you found my blog. I haven't written in it for a while, but your post serves as a reminder why I should keep on doing it, because it I've met so many interesting people as a result. I wish I was as crafty as you, my efforts to learn how to knit have been mediocre at best... I really need more patience. :)
