Political Knitting back to normalcy

I've been very upset about a lot of things to do with the interference everywhere that I see coming from people who should realize that they are twisting what it means to be a Christian to their own uses and less than honest purposes. They have done a tremendous amount of damage to our democracy. These are people of all levels in the society who would seek more power in any organization, and they are willing to get it with almost any amount of lying and subterfuge. All of which, I might add, bodes ill for the rest of us. The fact that the CRs are blind to it in their own manipulations is appalling. I've decided that it isn't wise for those who believe we have a pluralistic democracy - and that very pluralism is what makes us strong - to be backing away from a fight. I'm going to fight. I'm too old and have seen too much. I've never known a time when my country wasn't at war, hidden or otherwise, somewhere.

Meanwhile, to keep from going crazy, I'm going to speak out and to knit.

The glove is going to be too big. The only hope for it is that when I wash it, the cotton will shrink enough to make it smaller. Drops sweater will be going well when I get over the knot surprise and drag the sweater back out of the corner of the room I threw it into. The sock is getting it's heel turned and I'll pick up the gussets this afternoon after the PostCards are mailed. I'm going to cast on one of Sarah-Hope's new hat patterns in a lovely blue/brown Paton's soywool from Michael's which I bought yesterday. It's the lightest of the two brown/blue mixes, that's what I got a week or so ago. Gretchen is going along very well on the new addis, and I'll have to blow up a balloon inside to take her picture. She's turning into a bowl!
