This is Sunday? Do you know where your Bombers are?

This is not the right time to be making a post. I've used a catalyst word in the heading. Wooopeeeee!

My daughter's radio show is called Peace Talks. She really cares about this "Peace thing". I'm hoping that it was the way she was brought up but I'm not sure anyone can take the credit for her unyielding thinking that we could work this out if the powerful where not a bunch of greedy, heedless manipulators who scuttle the Peace process every Bloody time it gets it's head above the waves!

I know exactly who to blame for this situation but the blameworthy have systematically befuddled what should be a Huge Force for Peace into believing that we can get there through a battlefield and shock and awe warfare and moreover, it's the Christian thing to do! After all, didn't the Savior say so?? Sometimes I think my heart is just going to stop beating, it's now so erratic.

If you are still in the Huge Force and believe that you need to take an AK-47 and blast your way through a battlefield to world peace, please, run don't walk to the closest store front Recruitment Center and Enlist. There are at least three service arms you can serve in! The life you save might be my friend's nephew, or my neighbor's lovely nurse daughter, even the future winner of the Nobel prize for medicine. You know, someone who wants to come home because they are way beyond the administrations lying and belching of catch phrases.

And now we return to our regularily scheduled broadcast Of "Knitting Away Your Cares", whose generous sponsor, The Peace Movement, still believes is possible to do. Do any of you believe this? Please, Raise your hands please if you do. I'm out of patience with the lazy eyed Christian Right, and thumb my nose at their whole blood soaked run up to power.

Over the weekend I read the interview by James Kullander of Sister Joan Chittister in the Sun Magazine. It's called BE NOT SILENT. Yes, in caps, just like that. I hope that some of you get a chance to read it, too.

  1. Joan Chittister is my most favorite nun, as only a very liberal, social justice-centric Catholic can understand : D and I will have to try to ring up the article. She has written some beautiful books that I'm sure you would enjoy.

It is hard to believe there is anyone who is actually anti-peace, but unfortunately there are still those around who have latched on to the idea that this is a "holy" war and God is on our side. We can only hope that the manipulators stop and reality and reason can take hold.

  2. Annie, we can only hope. Thanks for your comment; it's very much appreciated. Watch for an email, and if you can't find that article at www.thesunmagazine.org I can mail you the issue.

I'll have to read some of her books. I was first introduced to her in another print source that I can't remember anymore. Senior moments are increasing. Gahhhh! =0(
