This one is done while rotating the top hand just a little around the vertical hand. I now know how to sign, "Look at the dirty Helicopter", "Look at the dirty tree", this is one that DH and I like to use when anyone complains about how "dirty" a tree is that is in their yard, and "Look at the dirty Bulldozer." I know a few other signs, too.
Someday it would be wise as well as expeditious to learn American Sign Language as DH and I age. It could save a lot of bad tempered remarks.
Anyway, out comes Gretchen, now. And the Drops Aran Sweater. I'm sorry for being such a slow knitter anymore. This hardly qualifies as a "knitting blog" at all!
Some intelligent person is going to have to explain to me how a tree can be Dirty. This is a concept that "does not compute."
ReplyDeleteBecause it sheds its leaves? Seeds? Not that WE shed our unused or no long needed all over the place. At least they exhale oxygen and not methane, CO2, ozone, nitrous oxide, etc.
So are trees supposed to use Clorox Wipes?
I feel like a Dalek from Dr. Who. "exterminate. exterminate."
I love the gloves, such a great shade of green. Glad to hear the winds have shifted and things are looking better in your area.
ReplyDeleteNice gloves! I've had a pair of green fingerless gloves for DH on the needles for 3 years!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my blog. The blue of the shawl is more of a Wedgewood blue than a gray/blue.
Hi Zippy,
ReplyDeleteWondered how you were faring in those terrible fires. We are just going into summer here and it will be a bad one they say. We teach all the kids at child care sign language. I think more people should learn
I wonder where, "Look at the dirty bulldozer" would come in handy. One never knows. The sign for helicopter is kind of obvious, but I like the one for bulldozer.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've come through the fires okay. we had our first serious snow last night. What a wonderful world!
