This is a warning of sorts. I'm going to go veering into Caucasian Territory so as to vent my sick feelings about what is happening there. I'm trying to find a group of reliable sources for material and I'll be posting them from time to time as this develops.
I will say one thing, if Israel can be warned off of supplying drones to Georgia by Russia, then it shows a major shift of power away from what we've grown to believe is our invincibility.

Article about an Oil Deal to bypass Russia in 2007
And digging a little further... Gee, I think we are seeing the emergence of yet another big player's Army, marching for the sake of Oil. Well, well...
Another site, commentary by Edward Lucas, author of The New Cold War. He's put this into a nutshell.
Thank you for the links. We got out the atlas last night and after looking at the area, we figured it had to be oil. Yep, and your articles informed greatly and confirmed.
ReplyDeleteAnd look how close all that is to Iran...
Putin, Bush, Cheney..all should be snapped like a twig.
Meribeth
Hi Meribeth, indeed they do, but can't we hang them all by their thumbs first? Please please?
ReplyDeleteAbout Russia. No matter who it is running the WH, they under estimate Russia, China, or even the small nation's Territorial Imperative every time. I think it's because the right people are NOT running the foreign policy or the State Department. Also, Inbred, Idiological nepotism in a presidency time after time, is not a good thing.
I'm glad that you found the links helpful. Georgia is just another small country that got eaten by Tsarist Russia, so ended up on the plate for the even more ruthless Communists.
Dangerously close to Iran, it is, also. Well, perhaps this means WE won't be going to war with Iran after all?
ReplyDeleteAnd I read this morning that Iraq is working on signing a deal with China over oil rights?
ReplyDeleteOff-shore drilling is just a good way to get us invaded. Going green is the only road to security now, and it's pretty narrow.
Indeed Sallyjo, we now have a lot to ponder as a nation run by the foolish and very short sighted.
ReplyDeleteWe actually held Russia to a big damaging debt restructuring after handing them a defeat at the oil table. I can dig it up somehow but I put that together as it developed. Then we insulted them again by arming and petting Georgia.
Here's a little something to read, for anyone who wants it. You don't deliver the Russians this kind of bad news when Putin is standing in the background, watching like the KGB vulture that he is.

We just don't need super powers anymore. They just make everyone's lives, aside from their own, a living hell.
