Hiya Fuzzarelly. :o). Sadly, I wasn't able to mend the most desirable of the kitchen Goddesses without the mend showing that ugly telltale line of the beheading. So, I finally just decided to try to find another statuette. They had become so expensive over the years that I wasn't going to be able to replace her.
Ah, another sleeper. Me too, I'll gladly sleep until Nov. 5th. I've had enough of McCain's Dog and Pony show.
Yes, I know that this ceramic statue is a replication of the Queen of Heaven, and something no one is supposed to have around, being that it's a craven image. I had a half Catholic upbringing. I know just what she represents, actually.
I think the Mother of God is a lot like The Goddess of Mercy, Kwan Yin, and a very beautiful thing to have in a household for a Goddess, and the kitchen is the heart of the home. Thanks for your thoughts.
No not a "craven image" that is something that non Catholics misinterpret. If you know what she is why do you call her somethign she is not? That is very insulting to Catholicism to do that.
Were you able to mend the Kitchen Goddess? Did you try?
ReplyDeleteFor whatever reason, I cannot get your blog's RSS feed to work. So what with my ever slowing dial-up connection, I don't browse blogs like I used to.
I, too, am quite ready to sleep until November 5.

That is a catholic statue of the virgin mother not a kitchen goddess. Very common in catholic homes
