Mind of Tao meets Fashionista

This battle has been going on for over 30 years. Sometimes the Mind of Tao wins and the Fashionista who loves to sew and knit gives up the color wheel and retreats into deeper philosophies. This may be news to my children but it is so. I Ching, and the study of it should have taught me better lessons like, "Politics Is A Tug of War".

I'm now ready to listen, one reason being that we normally have a lot of people running for president who are never heard but whose IDEAS usually are co-opted by the major two parties. We aren't really talking fringe people, because the Republicans have succeeded, just, in getting themselves divorced from the fringy right wing of their domain. The people I'm talking about are the decent and fair minded middle folk, always under represented. You know, the ones with really workable ideas that don't waste time waiting for the politicos to change horses "in mid stream".

Ah well, someday the color wheel will run over me again, and I will probably start sewing and knitting. If I'm silent til then, it doesn't mean I've died or anything. This for the 8 of you who look in from time to time.

ValScot reminded me that spinning wheels should not be let go to waste. I'm grateful for that. Thank you, ValScot. It's time to spin to a rhyme that must have been made just for me:

Cross Patch
Draw the Latch
Sit by the Fire
And Spin....

I'm almost over this funk. Don't mind me. My sister and my dog have been having a rough time and my neighbor as well. Convergence of little black iron arrows to the heart of the happy. Where is that Angel of St. Theresa when he's needed?

PS. The picture of the little kitchen Goddess will be taken and posted as soon as the tiny dog is done eating. We can't disturb 'is Lordship while he's eating or there is hell to pay.

  1. It sounds like you're heading into the Black Hole. I suspect it has something to do with the lack on control we are all feeling a bit of now as we wait for the election to be decided. The combination of fear, andger, and lack of control often have that effect. Take a little time for yourself, get out for some long walks and know that all eight of us (I'm sure there are more!) will be back to see what you're up to!

  2. When JFK was shot in Dallas, I heard the news while talking to 3rd graders as part of a search for a missing girl (who was later found murdered), and my mother was in the hospital having cancer surgery.

I went home that night and worked at my bench with torch and silver. In retrospect, it was probably what saved my sanity that week. One thing that I could control.

  3. Yes, Ellen, indeed I am. I do feel shaky and out of control. If I were a little space ship I would have been flitting all over our galaxy and half way to Andromeda by now. *rolls eyes* Got some sunshine today. And a flu shot. Two kinds of prevention.

Pogo, that was a heck of a lot of dreadful stuff all at the same time. I can remember that awful day when JFK was murdered so completely, right down to the sunshine coming in the apartment window and falling across the bed.

Thank you both for sharing ideas on how to keep all four of these feet of mine out of that yawning black hole.

    I can't wait for Nov 5th, can't wait can't.. can't.. can't....

  4. Yes, I feel it too. And Black Hole is a good name for it! When the feeling of being caught between a rock and a hard place, and having no say in the matter, leads to the feeling of depression. The frustration, fear and that quiet little whisper from Hope, really makes it hard to do anything.
That is when the really little things in life speak volumes, like a little porcelaine statue.

  5. I like to look at that peaceful face and remember that even in the darkest times something in the universe will send us Love and will care about us.
