Then this is for you....
This is why I will never get a facebook account. At least Blogger hasn't gone that insane, Yet... My niece has a facebook. Several friends have facebook. They also get a half dozen emails a day from FACEBOOK admins alone! That's not counting all the other facebook related stuff that pops up in their real "face" everyday. I don't Twitter, either.
Your computer can quickly become a giant SINKHOLE that your whole life tumbles into. You will still be loved and a worthy person if you don't have either one of those hyper intrusive things in your life. This is why I love to read blogs. Blogs don't send you nagging emails. They just sit there and wait for you to log onto their particular address and catch up with friends who share your interests.
Have a happy day!
Amen to that. I don't carry, or have, a cell phone, either.
ReplyDeleteI want to control my gadgets, not the other way around.
Guilty!! I do have a FB page! It took me a while, but I figured out how to block all those annoying messages, and now am happy to use it just for keeping tabs on family and friends. Neat thing is that I've found some old friends and made some new ones through old friend connections. Ha. I'm keeping it.
ReplyDeleteFuzzarelly, we have a c phone because we get out there in the back of beyond. But we control it with the OFF button, and it's very old tech. But I do know what you mean, how connected that thing can make a person.
ReplyDeletePogonip, it has it's good points and you have found them. The things you like are what attracted me in the first place.
So I recently succumbed to Facebook...about 3 weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteThe gild is now off that lily. it's boring, and a bit odd too.
I have a FB account but I have turned off all emails. I will check it when I want to not get bombarded with rubbish.
ReplyDeleteI also set up a twitter account to see what it was all about. Each tweet can only have something like 150 characters so it is 'information' by sound bite, or text bite.
Hi Wen. Oh, I hadn't known that much about twitter but if it's smaller in volumn, then it would be less irritating with back chat and all the interconnections. I'll look into it, but I have an old phone. It won't do any text messaging, though my daughter begged us to upgrade. She has a phone that does all of that stuff. Tweets.. how cute. Very like bird chatter in the trees. Small and quite peaceful, I reckon.
ReplyDeleteCaellach, I had an account for about that long. I got tired of it really fast, too. I think it would work if it was just for family and friends, ala pogonip, but I got 15 emails a day some days. Gah!
