That's about as close as it gets for yarns that are separated by about two and a half years of dye lots, eh? I have laid a strand of the old down between the two new on the new skein, and I cannot pick out any color differences at all, even though sunlight is low all around because of a cloudy day- thus a somewhat lousy picture.
This was a lot more than I ever could have hoped for. Whew! I'll still mix a skein to see exactly where I'm at with this sweater but the worst is over. DH will be able to tell much better than I because he doesn't see colors in green, but rather shades of gray which are much more telling.
