Why? Why is this happening, again?

I can't be silent, as silence equates with complicity.

I was just reading Salon.com and came across this video and a quote that led me to read Glenn Greenwald's Opinion piece on Torture done by the United States.

This video is appalling in it's intent and in it's delivery. I never thought I would hear this man say the things he is saying. Never. He does not speak for me.

This is what General Barry McCaffrey had to say about torture:

"We should never, as a policy, maltreat people under our control, detainees. We tortured people unmercifully. We probably murdered dozens of them during the course of that, both the armed forces and the C.I.A."

And this is Obama, trying to look forward and not backward. I can't tell if he is swallowing hard because he doesn't like what he is having to say, or if he is just nervous about saying it. The CIA is not our friend, America. It has served as a battering ram for American Corporations for too long to be a friend of the average Joe.
