45,000 un-insured die yearly...
So, I know a few people who are in this leaky boat. I bet nearly everyone does.
Maybe the super rich don't, those amongst them who seem to know few people beneath their own "class", or other's who just prefer to turn their heads. But most people do know someone who has died because they were uninsured. I know a burn victim, amongst others. How can a homeless, itinerant working American buy into Baucus' Plan? They simply can't.

Just today there was 45 free needed surgeries proformed in Pueblo, CO...many the 'working poor' I know some of them even working for our school district! (they are needing every dime and can't afford the 400-500 (or more)a month plus copays, but yet working very hard. Then there are some retired people working just to have that health insurance (what happen to their previous one?) this is such a dynamic issue... oh, then I know a person whose husband works for a pharmacy company (accountant, no less) and with extreme back pain called her Dr. and she has to wait a WEEK.... hmmmmmm.....
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say, PJ? We are going to have, STILL, a plan for the wealthy and a plan for everyone else. And we will all pay more.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll say what needs to be said. Many of my doctors volunteer one day a week to a clinic for the working poor, as well as for others who can't afford any health care at all. That's a very telling scenario for the wealthiest country in the world.
I think the servants of the people, the congress and the president have shown that they really don't care that much about whether we get a system that works for us, or one that keeps making privileged people wealthy off the profits from limiting health care to Americans. Oddly, they will never need free clinics. Why would they care. So much for public service actually being what it's supposed to be.
I see that pretty clearly now.
