This is one brave patriot, trying to save a lot of grief for his state, and mine, actually. This new state law is unconstitutional. There's no excuse for any elected State official to not understanding that it IS unconstitutional, either, and it's going to cost a lot of money, in the Courts, to defend it.

I wonder how many officers are really going to do this stuff. If it's anything like here...police officers are from one call to another...really don't have time for such nonsense....and the paperwork. I wonder their (people actually out in the field) take on this?

ReplyDeleteAlso, one of the favorite "tricks" of crooked employers is to knowingly hire undocumented workers, and then just before a last payday for a crew, call in Immigration. This happens across the whole country. Since undocumented workers have no rights, they don't get paid, and get deported. Many may think this is funny or even just, so we don't punish a lot of slave labor in this way. This is dead wrong to do.
Whether this law, which has a clause to punish those who knowingly hire undocumented workers, will have that enforced any better than it is under the federal law, which also does, remains to be seen.
