African Violets

This video has parameters that are too wide for Blogger, so click once to get started, then double click it to be taken to YouTube where you can view it correctly.

I've got a leggy, long suffering African Violet that is years old, maybe 25?  Anyway, I feed it on tea and got the best blooms ever, doing that.  Yes, just cold brewed tea, and the interesting thing about this, is that the tip came from a LYSO who had a fantastic and huge African Violet blooming in her front facing window at the shop.

As you can tell from the comments on this video, there are about 70 different ways to do this thing.  My own mother propagated leaves in water, and so did I.  I want to do something different this time.

I am going back to regular feedings of commercial violet food to get the plant re-established.  Maybe I'll take some pictures of the process but, really, YouTube has seemingly thousands of videos on the subject of transplanting and propagating African Violet.  Just Google it I guess.  Lol

UPDATE:  If you are really serious about this propagating stuff, or really REAALLY bored, you can go HERE or HERE to see how the big guys, God help us if Monsanto starts getting interested in African Violets, propagate their plants for sale.
