The babies, the old top and the one leaf, have developed good root systems but the leaf cutting hasn't developed a new plantlet. Time will tell on this one as the Monster Gardener uprooted the poor thing about three weeks ago and (gasp!) disturbed it's little roots.
The "mother" plant has developed a very good new top but now there is a Quandry in that I can either cut off the new head and root it, or just repot and bury that long stem so that it can develop new roots too. I'm leaning toward burial.
On the knitting front, now that I can see better as a consequence of staying off the computer for long hours everyday, I've forgiven the dark Hempathy yarn, and I now see that it's making a beautiful pair of fingerless mitts. The use of "0" sized DPNs has made a tighter fabric and it's very lovely. I'll compare the two Hempathy knits as soon as possible.
Birds! The Winter Wren is back, and it's not even September yet. She/he usually arrives back in September but it's been such a cool summer- if we forget about that week of triple digits last week - that I suppose many of God's creatures have adjusted their wee schedules.
OH oh! Books! I'm still reading the Amelia Peabody series which is completely brilliant fun. The author, Elizabeth Peters, perfectly spoofs Romance/Thriller novels and is a fantastic writer. Since she holds a Ph.D in Egyptology from the University of Chicago, she also knows her stuff when it comes to the history of DIGS and gets more than a few in at the ancients of Archeology. I'm now reading, Lion on the Valley, which is the fourth in the series. This has been a great summer for reading!
