"Everyone can master a Grief but he who has it”

Busy day, happy day

The new Charley starts from Sis.

The old leggy and half dead Charley from last summer's drought.

Two new pots of Charley

I love my small garden. When I see that the sedums or the piggie back plants or any other of the succulents have started growing babies on their tips, or on the ground near them, I get excited! I love cutting a leaf or a branch off of something and having that grow into a new plant.

There is a fabulous feeling of wonder and delight when one works in the garden. I even like the little weeds, both to eat and to feed to our tortoises.

  1. It's like that goofy squash I have growing. I love squash, so I'm happy to get the fruit? but it's so cool that it's from seed I saved out of a squash I ate last year, that and the fact that it looks like some monster getting ready to eat the yard.
I saw a hummingbird at my scarlet runner beans yesterday. It made up for my not getting any beans off the eight plants that are trying to eat the house. Or maybe the squash and the runner beans are going for a pincer movement, to catch me dozing in my rocker some morning.

  3. K, I forgot it was so late. I sure can't spell!

They're gonna gitcha, little shop of horrors! muhahaha

Hummingbirds are always fun to watch, the little brave hearts. You gotta love 'em.

We had a pumpkin vine grow out of the compost one year and it grew all OVER the hill. We got a monster pumpkin from it, and it made pretty good pies. Butternut and acorn are my very favorite squash, and patti pan. how is it spelled? You know, those little frill edged green ones, tender and delish.
