In my city we have puppy mills, smaller operations than some that have come into the news recently, but ones that are run by the same stripe of unscrupulous people. They are in two places that we know of, the Oceanside area and in Southwest San Diego County.
Wolfie's story HERE, of what he looked like and how sick he was when picked up off the streets, parallels the story of Boomer. I'm linking this so that the Humane Society, as well as Animal Control officers and staff will be spotlighted for the tremendous work they do to alleviate suffering for these little dogs. The "Angels and Saints" label on this post is for these people.
It's also a shameless promotion for donations to the shelters at this Christmas season of giving, and as a plug for adoption. THESE DOGS make wonderful family pets, even after all that they have been through.
