Wolfie report: His eye and nose are slowly getting better. We won't know for several weeks more whether tear production will come up to grade in his one eye or if he'll have to have medicine for the rest of his life. I'm hoping not, but then, this is simpler than a lot of things Jazzie went through.
I feel just terrible about it because if I'd been more diligent about checking his eyes everyday, this might not have happened. His eyes are huge and dark and shiney bright. Now one looks like a dull little marble. If you have a Shih tzu or a mix, keep a watch for dry eyes. They seem to be susceptible to this.
Teeniest of Rants: I had an interesting convo with DD3 this past weekend. She told me that I needed to stop obsessing - my word, not hers, about the criminal enterprise that's running the world. And further more, I should just support the ones who are doing the whistle-blowing and taking all the life threatening chances to reveal the duplicity, and to get the truth out. And so I will. I will treat them like the patriots for freedom and democracy that they are, and not let their sacrifice for all of us be forgotten. I'll hold them in my heart with all the soldiers and policemen who struggle everyday to make sense of what's going on around them. I'm sure there were plenty of Nazi infantrymen who hated their lives.

This is a sore subject at my house. I think Snowden is a hero, my wife thinks he is a traitor. She keeps pulling out the old chestnut that if I am not doing anything wrong why am I worried about gvt spying. Political differences at home can get pretty ugly pretty fast, so I just tell her that my opinions are the opposite of hers re Snowden and that I will not discuss the abridgement of my civil rights. So hard to convince her that the Bad Guys are running the store.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad, but it does happen. DH and I weren't in agreement on the civil rights movement - at first. But when I said that no American had to EARN their rights as they were born with them just as we were, we've been pretty much on the same page.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, though. It's best not to argue about it when family members don't agree. Or at least not when current mindsets are as they are, and that we, meaning the majority of aggrieved citizens clearly don't haven't got the guts to punish war criminals who have absolutely started at least one war for gain; they have also committed other war crimes they were not made to answer for.
What we've been left with is a burgeoning military state that spends nearly half our tax dollars on whatever it wants, and then it punishes us if we make a peep, using mobster tactics and character assassinations.
Americans won't seem to be being hurt by their government snooping into private lives with little to no controls in place, but they should be aware that in past times, tyranny just following in it's wake when such as this occurred.
Additionally, these criminals have made America into a pariah among nations, and now want to have the rest of us join in to punish the people who exposed their secrets? I don't think so. Let them take the blame for what they've done. Let them stand up and take it like men.
