Music Monday: This is your fight song, all you fellow Scots!

I found this on another blog.  You likely know about these things- following a blog and seeing another blog there, and then yet another blog.

There is no chance that, two days later, I can remember where this beautiful thing was in order to credit the blogger.  That's a break in common decency, blog etiquette, and the old fashioned good manners my mother taught me.  Mea Culpa.

I only remember commenting to the blogger that the cellist looked like my grandmother and great grandmother.  His eyes are not quite as blue as Grandma's.

And, frankly, I'm not sure he's Scottish at all, but my relatives were of Clan McCoy, and great grandmother's family was part of the Highland clearances. At least that part of the mother's family has been here a long time, and they settled in the Cumberland Gap area, moving on later to Pennsylvania or Ohio.  This was according to my mother and grandmother.  She sang like an angel, my grannie.  Sweet, sweet memories....

  1. Very nice, thanks for sharing!
(I've been here all along, but been having problems posting comments - probably an error in MY setup, not yours).
    Hugs!

  2. Hey there! You're welcome. I thought you might have gone on vacation, got really busy or ? Thought it might be time to think about "sending out the sled teams" (huskies) if you didn't pipe up pretty soon.
Google did go to https from http, so maybe that's a problem. When I use photos sometimes it gives dire warnings about way too many things than it's possible to worry about. If you hit, "fix", it breaks the link, and so I just hit "ignore".

Hugs back and nice to see you again! :o)

  4. Thank you, Paula, for your visit, and hope you enjoyed the tune as well. I can remember less and less as years go by and never knew all that much about my maternal grandparents' families anyway. I have one name and am going to try to trace it back through Cumberland Gap, to Pennsylvania, and/or Ohio, where my great grandparents met. Great Grandpa was a Welsh miner.
