Sunday Stealing: February 25th

My New Favorite Author Questions

We found this gem our usual way. We scoured the Internet. We found a blog named after its author (or should I just say author) K.M. Weiland who writes fantasy and has won numerous awards. Because it was only 10 questions, we added 10 more that we stole from our archives. I am sure that when our new favorite author sees that we added to her questions masterpiece, she will be thrilled. I suppose it would if I were her publisher and I decided that a book of K.M.'s needed another chapter so I wrote it myself.

But hey, we've done worse. You don't going around stealing other peoples shit without an occasional hiccup. One time I got this nasty email from a previous victim that ranted that I should not have added her picture because The Internet, according to her was a crazy place. The picture was on her blog. Why it was s safer p[lace on her blog than this one will remain one of this decade's big mysteries. Since Stealing had already publisher I had to change the pic. I put in a picture of a jackass. She wrote me back saying that once she understood the purpose of this blog, I could use her picture. She also volunteered to be a "guest author" of a post. At the time I just laughed. I mean, do you really think I had "guest hosts" for a freaking questions blog? When we did get tired of all things blog, we found another author, which for over three years was Kwizgiver. But she wasn't a "guest host", she was the host. Since we didn't talk much about my new favorite author K.M., I suggest you buy a book. Click here to see her novels available from Amazon. Please like is on Facebook (details below) and Google Plus in our side bar. Let's get to it!

Cheers to all of us thieves!

Where do you go to decompress from the world?
I go inside my head.  Works for me!

If given $10,000, what would you do with it?
I'd put a new roof on the house.  We have a leaky roof.

What is one major renovation you would love to make on your house?
See the above.

What is one movie that you love and didn’t expect to love?
That would be "Pitch Black", a Sci Fi about another planet where a convict becomes a real life hero.

What is the oldest knick-knack you own and what is its sentimental value?
This is kind of crazy.  I was just looking at these things last week!  It's a set of a mother cow and two calves that I gave to my grandmother in the late 40's.  When she passed away, my aunts back in Ohio sent them back to me.   They remind me of my Grandmother and how much she loved her two tiny Jersey cows.  I loved those little gals, too.

Do you own any books you keep out of obligation, but actually hate?
None that I can think of.  I don't read things that I know I'm going to hate.  And if I start a book and don't like it, I'll leave it on a park bench...yes, people do this for other's here.

How many countries have you visited outside of the one you live in now?
I've been to Mexico as far down as the 48 k (?) mark on the map.  Rosarita Beach where the surfers go.  It's so long ago that I'm having trouble remembering the exact kilometer mark.

Have you ever read only part of a book, but claimed you’ve read the whole thing?
No, that's sort of crazy.  I'd rather complain about how lame I thought it was, and totally diss it.

Have you ever spent a lot of money on something? What was it?
The jeep was more money than our HOUSE!  It's a time related thing.  Very old house, very new as in recent Jeep.

If you could change your name, what would it be?
Lily

What is a nickname a former (or present) lover gave you?
We don't have pet names, either of us.  Well except the HUN thing, and Attila may be said under the breath.  We've talked of this recently.

How do you style your hair? If you just would say "cut" what style is it?
I've cut my hair shag style, Bobbed it, and cut it into a Pixie several times over the decades.

How many colors are you wearing now?
Three on my body not counting the zebra socks.

What's one piece of fiction that changed your life?
Mysterious Island  by Jules Verne.

Is there anything that has made you unhappy recently?
Oh ya.  And, I'm not going to be talking about it anymore.

Tell us about the job that you did before your current one or last one.
Grammar School: Classroom Aide.  Loved it!

What was the last song to get stuck in your head?
"Thriller"

What is your least favorite thing to do that you have to do everyday?
Getting up.  It's true that it gets harder and harder to face a day when you get older.

Best time of your life?
When the kids were all happy and playing soccer?  idrk

What are you most looking forward to in the coming year?
Going to see the kids sometime and maybe going up into Oregon and Washington, maybe.

  1. re "getting up" it takes longer and longer, I've noticed, to get all the body parts to fall into place so you can move comfortably. Getting old ain't for sissies.

    1. Hi Bev. Waking "it" all up is hard to do. I truly feel your pain. And too right about about the "not for sissies" comment. *said as she creeps by on her cane*

  2. What a nice memory those cows are of you grandmother. I remember those sets of ceramic animals and two babies (usually connected to the mother by little chains). I had one with Poodles and one with elephants.

I like that you leave books on the park bench for someone else. I've done that a few times. I try to pass on the books I don't want to save in one way or another...even if it's just to donate them back to the library's used book sale.

    1. Hi Stacy. The books on benches works best in summer, even here in sunny SoCal. Also, as elsewhere, people have put up weather proof library boxes for sharing books. Ah, The beauty of community.

I've seen those little chained together "mother and child" sets but those came later. So sweet. Ill post mine later in Thursday 13.

    1. Sister soul! One's own head is a sanctuary for the poor, weary senses. All the trees can be pink or purple there if you like them that way.

    1. Hiya Bee Bee. Going into your own head is like a vacation from the stress of modern times. And, Lily is another nickname of my mother's, and I wish I'd named our daughter that.
