Updated Sunday Stealing: From Smellyann...

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on the WTIT Blog with Bud Weiser.

Here are some questions Smellyann found on Pinterest.

Cheers to all of us thieves!

Apologies to the other thieves.. I'm publishing early.. It's a time thing.... Sorry Thieves!

A BIG Thank You to BEV!  The Pirate Captain!

1. What is more difficult for you, looking into someone’s eyes when you are telling someone how you feel, or looking into someone’s eyes when they are telling you how they feel.
I've never actually thought about this.  Neither is difficult actually.  I guess I'm cool with either thing.  I do tend to listen and really focus on (give my full attention to) the person while THEY talk, and then I focus away into the distance when I answer, and this is because I'm thinking and tend to gaze off into the blue whenever I do.  It helps me to think and gather words better.  I'm comfortable talking to people.

2.  Think of the last time you were REALLY angry.  WHY were you angry?  Do you still feel the same way?
I was angry that someone would even suggest arming teachers.  Oh yes, I still feel the same way.  I't's just about the stupidest thing I've heard coming out if this tragedy, and the idiotic idea was re-iterated by the same person.

3.  You are on a flight from Honolulu to Chicago non-stop. There is a fire in the back of the plane.  You have enough time to make one phone call. Who do you call?  What do you tell them?
What a dark subject and subset of questions.  Obviously I'd call my husband and tell him I love him and ask him to please kiss the kids.

4.  You are at the doctor’s office and she has just informed you that you have approximately one month to live.  Do you tell anyone/everyone you are going to die? What do you do with your remaining days? Would you be afraid?
I might yank down my blogs.  That's how all of you would know.  I would prepare to die.  I'm not afraid to die.  I just would pray, in my last days, to be brave.  Brave...

5.  You can have one of the following two things.  Which do you choose?  Why?  Love and Trust.
Love.  Jesus didn't train us to think of Love as the greatest commandment for nothing.  And this is because all the other commandments just follow right along behind it, if you have Love....  Trust has nothing to do with it if it's done right.

6.  You are walking down the street on your way to work.  There is a dog drowning in the canal on the side of the street.  Your boss has told you that if you are late just one more time you are fired. Do you take the time to save the dog’s life?  Why? Why not?
I'd take the time.  In the long run a boss can be unpredictable and callous enough to fire you for nearly anything.  But saving the helpless animal's life is something you will be able to treasure and think back on for the rest of your life.  And that boss... If they are inhumane enough to fire you for saving a life, then it's time to look for another job.  My thinking is that God himself has put you there and is testing your compassion.  So, that's a test no one wants to fail.

7.  Would you rather be hurt by the one you trust the most or the one you love the most?
I choose Love.  You have to love someone a lot to trust them.  So, there is really no contest.

8.  Your best friend confesses that he/she has feelings for you more than just friendship.  He/she is falling in love with you.  What do you (or did you) say?
Nothing.  I would just walk a way... Well maybe I would Yell, stamp my foot and slap him.  Yah, it depends.... If I could hire these guys, it might EVEN BE MONUMENTAL....
THE HAKA!!  Go see; it's fun!

9.  Think of the last person you know who died.  You have the chance to give them 1 hour more of life back, but you have to give up one year of yours.  Do you do it?  Why? Or Why not?
Originally I had said that I would do this............Well, I really blew it!

I'd like to have had the chance to hold my daughter's hand, tell her I loved her, and that she was a wonderful daughter, and that I'm sorry. But I'd not want her to have to come back here for even a second, let alone an hour....

10.  Are you the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend?
Absolutely.  It would be dishonest to be any other way.

11.  Does love = sex?
Does Sex = Love?  That's both a yes and a no, since it depends on who's in the mix.  It does for women, the first equation, and for men, the second.  At least that's what the psychologists say.  Actually now, it seems to be thought of as more of a Recreation.

12.  Your boss tells your co-worker that they have to let them go because of work shortage, and they are the newest employee.  You have been there much longer.  Your co-worker has a family to support and no other means of income.  Do you go to your boss and offer to leave the company?  Why or Why not.  If I had a half million dollars in the bank or another job I could step right into, I would.  Otherwise, no.  Co-workers at various companies have gone together and offered to take a time off  to try to help out some others fated for the axe, but how can someone give up an entire job.  After all, everyone has bills unless they are independently wealthy.

13.  When was the last time you told someone HONESTLY how you felt regardless of how difficult it was for you to say?  What did you have to tell the person?
And I want the entire Round little World of OZ to know?  No..  I do not.

14.  What would be (or what was) harder for you to tell a member of the opposite/same sex – you love them or that you do not love them back.
Never had to do this.  And,  I'm still trying to figure out the twisted logic in this.... Can I get back to you?

  1. I no longer look people in the eye when talking about feelings. Anyone's feelings. Too often people thought I was angry, upset, or just too intense when I'm merely interested.

    1. Wow, and that's too bad it happened. I'm thinking you must have some amazing and gorgeously big blue/green eyes, or something. I think my daughter Bee seems to have an intense glare sometimes but it's just those beautiful eyes of hers.
And, I guess, my deep brown eyes, before they faded, were like puppy dog eyes and had some "other" effect. Beware the brown eyed. lol

  2. These were terribly difficult questions! You did a good job answering, though and I enjoyed the peek into what you think. You bring up an interesting point with taking down the blogs. I have wondered how my online friends would know I had passed. You were spot on about how men and women view the love/sex question. I love watching those guys do the Haka! Have a blessed Sunday, Zip!

    1. Thank you Stacy. These were very challenging, and some could have been seen as intrusive. But, of course, it's easy to demur. ;o)
I'm not sure I'd do that with blogs but it seems harmless enough, as long as trolls don't send in the troops to line up at his door. Now that I think about it, I think they'll stay up. LOL!
Happy evening to you, and glad you enjoyed the Haka!

  3. I thought these were strange (and depressing) questions.

    1. Yes, they were really depressing and a quite odd. And, they were more like something you would find on Facebook rather than Pinterest. Who knew? I'll never look at Pinterest quite the same anymore. There be Dragons!

  4. The Haka--I need to teach my students to do this before testing! :D

    1. It would be terribly fun if you did! All sorts of people are taking it up. It's very big in Rugby and even now, to some extent, in Soccer matches. ;o)

  5. loved this question it took a lot of thinking!!! loved your replies to each of them

    1. Thank you. You've done a great job on these. They were arguably the hardest ones yet. Old wounds and such.. lol.. Pretty Heavy duty. And yes, a lot of thinking. Have a great week and don't let them Gaters take too big a bite out of yur toes or happinesses. heehee
