While in the Mountains I made these stitch markers for the Aran Sweater. All materials are available now for them at Michaels so it really is lots easier now than it was several years ago.
I'll go check out your blog for the answer about the Greer Spindles. I think those woods are quite lovely. Thanks for the tip.
Ah that sock.... I'm beginning to get the hang of knitting lace in the round on four needles. So, that sock is looking better to me all the time. It's a beautiful rose pink, my favorite to color to wear, besides blue that is.
Oh never worry about long comments, unless you recite some obscure medaevial resource or something, and I mean REAAAAALY long one, it's not going to bother me.
I guess I read all the comments that you so kindly reposted for me EXCEPT the one I should have read. Thanks again. Off to read it now... Jasper sends a stiff legged little growl to the bigger doggies. He is tiny and finds it hard to protect himself without a fierce offense.
ah! Pugs, I think Liz must have one of the heavy Goldrings. I love the one I got and think I'll get another one for even lighter weight spinnings, like the tiny cherrywood hearts one.
Karen, you're welcome. And, I can tell you what the SSK is but I sure can't do it. Somehow you are supposed to slip two stitches to the other needle and then go back and knit them together. It gives a slightly different look than a K2tog, but same result. I just change it out.
Liz, thanks for stopping by the blog and for the info on the Golding and Greer. I'm still thinking of getting the lightweight cherry hearts (or maybe another design) Golding when I can. I've got some toy wheel and fairly nice lightweights now but I know that they are not as good as a really good light spindle.
LadyV, thanks for stopping by. I love beaded stitch markers and yours are truly gorgeous. I use a lot of beads in my jewelry making so I make mine on jump ring so that I can change out colors when I get bored. I bore easily. heehee
I've enjoyed all the new blogs, too. As you say Liz, it is fun to find them.
