I saw this on Jung At Heart's Blog, so I stole it. Wheeee! Catch me if you can!
Christmas MEME
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Both, because it depends on the sort of gift. I love the bags for any party we go to, and gift wrap for family gifts, and sometimes the nice bags with beautiful tissue toppers.
2. Real or artificial tree? Artificial. Ours is about 15 years old. It should go a few more years
3. When do you put up the tree? Sometime before Christmas. Sometimes we didn't get the tree up until a couple of days before Christmas.
4. When do you take it down? March, or whenever winter seems to finally be over.
5. Do you like eggnog? Yes, I do but it doesn't like me. I haven't found a vegan egg nog yet.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? A tea set that my mother saw that I loved, and she bought it for me.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes.
8. Hardest person to buy for? DH. He never wants anything for Christmas. We have solved the problem. See #9
9. Easiest person to buy for? DH as we don't exchange gifts anymore at all!
10. Worst Christmas present you ever got? Some green fabric to make something out of, and I just can't wear green. It was a lovely gift, though.
11. Mail or email Christmas cards? For several years now, I've just sent cards out as they came in. This year, if there is email for a pal, it's going to go out on the email.
12. Favorite Christmas movie? It's a Wonderful Life
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? All year long. I make things or we make fudge, cakes or breads to give to relatives.
14.. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Over the years I've re-cycled them to the Salvation Army or Goodwill after keeping them for a time.
15. Favorite thing to eat on Christmas? Dinner? I like Ham. For overall general eating, I love Fantasy Fudge with Pecans.
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Colored lights. We have white lights for outside but inside I love the colors.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Oh Holy Night
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Home.
19. Can you name all of Santa's Reindeer? Yes.
20. Angel or star on top of tree? Angel.
21. Open presents Christmas Eve or morning. Always did it in the morning. One time, only, we tried that Christmas Eve thing and we just didn't like it.
22. Most annoying thing this time of year? I really want to get away from the selling and buying push at Christmas. That really annoys the heck out of me.
23. Do you decorate your tree in any theme or color? We now have a tree that is all clear glass ornaments. This developed after the kids all moved away and we knew that a change was called for.
24. What do you leave for Santa? We used to leave milk and cookies. I do think it's a fun thing for kids to see that it's gone in the morning. I'll bet the raindeer like their little treats, too.
25. Shopping... We've quit going to shop. Well, no one we know wants any prezzies!
26. Do you decorate outside for Christmas or just inside (or at all?) We haven't been good about the outdoor decorations for a few years. We always decorate indoors. We used to put a wreath on the little truck grill. I love seeing that. And, speaking of outdoor decoration. On the freeway for a long time there was some sort of little conifer growing. It was about ten feet tall and very cypress like. Someone would decorate it every year, for years. Then it was cut down, well, obviously it couldn't really stay there between the dividers.
27. Favorite Christmas cookie? linzer cookies. They are great! And snowballs, made like Russian tea cakes, almost...
28. Do you own Christmassy clothing or jewelry? My sis and I go out every year around this time for lunch, and I always buy us both a Christmas pin. It's tradition!
29. Do you believe in Santa? I believe very much in Saint Nicolas. Very much. Hi Saint Nicolas! *waves*
