I was going to say, it's gotta be the one on the right. I think my mother had that apron. I don't know that she made it. She belonged to Eastern Star, and I think those ladies were into aprons. Odd, to see them reappearing. (Said by someone who is always wishing she had worn an apron, because she looks like she rolled in the flour by the end of it.) k
View A looks just like one my grandmother wore. That was in the time when ladies did not even wear pants to do housework. My grandmothers always wore house dresses, and one usually wore a pinafore apron, always with pockets.
oh I agree the one on the right is perfect for bread - do you end up with flour all over you like I do when I do bread - I actually wore a black top today and made bread - guess what I don't have on now ;)
My mother and aunts had a large assortment of aprons that they wore to church dinners, family celebrations and special banquets. I was able to save some of my mom's aprons and treasure them. Make one and enjoy! Jen
To k: Thanks so much for some Apron Lore from your growing up. Sweet! My mom wore aprons when I was very small, but she gave up on such niceties when she was so overworked and couldn't be bothered.
To ellen: Oh so true. My paternal grandmother, even when she was in her 90's, wore an apron. Mother wore dresses for quite awhile, and aprons. The pockets are what makes an apron really handy.
To pogonip: Um, maybe. heehee I think the pumps would do some real harm, though. ;o) prat falls?
To Rho: Indeed I do get flour all over me. So I wear long sleeves, like an insane person. What am I thinking?
To Jen: Oh I will make one after I finish these doggone coats. lol. Thanks for sharing your memories of aprons of the past. Aprons are lovely, aren't they. I'm so glad that this pattern was re-issued.
To Magnusmog: Thanks! You have given me another reason for wanting the allover one on the right. Less exposure to fluff when spinning. Well, when I do any. Sometime this spring I hope to do a little spinning everyday. Maybe Jazz will consent to lie down again in one of his cuddlers right by my treadling feet?
Aprons(full body armor for cooks and bakers)really helps to keep the flour off the clothes! Gingerbread needs lots of extra flour, clouds of it, to keep it from sticking. Next Holiday season, I'll be ready!
Thanks to all of you for all the wonderful shared memories of aprons.

I want one - it would stop me being covered in fluff when I'm spinning :)
