How funny to provide the inspiration! At my high school the bubble grew to astonishing proportions - about the size and shape of a basketball. My mother diapproved of teased hair, so I was seldom able to acquire the most fashionable dimensions. Oh the Aqua Net - the cloud in the air meant a trip though the girls' room would set your hair for life.
Hi Ellen, your cute new haircut just got me thinking about hairdos down through the last 60 years, well since rock and roll really took off. Your memories and experience fighting the good fight with your mother over your fashion freedom were a crack up to read. LOL!
I have a picture of anther bubble a few years before that one that was classic! With it's little flippy end curls it looks just like that alien's do in the movie, "Mars Attacks". No, I won't be posting that one. hehehe
Ah, that heady walk through the girl's restroom, where you almost passed out with the fumes was risky! Some of that stuff smelled like brake fluid as it smarted the eyes.
Heehee, larjmarj, you had to get your hair sort of straight out from the roots to take full advantage of the ratting. The big rollers became aluminum beer.. er... soda cans at one point. Remember that? hahahahaha!
oh, but you looked lovely !
ReplyDeleteawwww. *blushes* thanks.. That's a very rare photo - me sort of dressed up and halfway decently groomed. I think that's a BDay prezzie in my hands.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to play? hehe..
