Tuesday Tails, a stolen meme, Day Six of the August Happiness Challenge, and a Skywatcher Post

Stolen meme:

From the blog, Sweet Memes

Since I'm a pushover for hearts anywhere I find them.... this sponge against the bisque-baked deer, for instance...

the predisposition to choose hearts likely explains my result,  or maybe not.  The world "Quixotic" seems to fit my world view.    I've tried to link the eyeball, below, to the site but couldn't figure out how to do it.  *sighs*  The link back is in those big BLUE words.

"You are an idealist and a romantic. You don't care much about how the world currently is... you think about how it should be.
You have a vision for yourself, your friends, and possibly even the planet. This goes so far beyond a fairytale ending.

You see the world in its ideal state. You know it isn't there yet ... or even close. But it could be!
You have high expectations for everyone and everything. You don't know why people aren't as committed to betterment as you are.

The world sees you as sweet but possibly naive. They may find you simple, but you don't understand why they complicate things.   People are surprised by how consistent and optimistic you are about getting the world and life you want. You refuse to give up hope."

Actually, I am a LOT happier since I've given up trying to initiate change in a world which I now see as something run by puppeteers who love power and money more than their first born children.

So, let's just have some animal pictures to cheer us all up, and count for:

Day Five SIX of the Challenge!
(Heck, I can't count. and obviously can't read a calendar!)
This is Jay holding an sweet little 8 week old pit puppy who was out for a walk with his family.  Jay usually doesn't smile when a camera is pointed her way, but she forgot that her sister is a camera nut, and very sneaky!   She loves animals and would love to have a dog.

Churchy saw his newest babies for the first time the other day, and here he is snuggling up with Milagro, the biggest of the two new babies.  By "New" I mean those born this century. hehe  It makes me happy that we have them but glad there will not be any more!

Churchy sniffed the babies but didn't bob his head at them or try to bite them.
Mother Poko Ono treated them like they were strangers, which is the Tortoise way of insuring that the kids stay well away from Mom.

Saturday was a sale day at the library, and DH scored two wonderful books, one about animals.

It's always a treasure to find a Farley Mowat book, and I look forward to reading it soon.  Right now I'm reading the second one, Animals in Translation by Temple Grandin.  Wolfie very graciously offered his backside as a prop.  I love the way Temple Grandin writes.  I'm still waiting for the other book I'm supposed to be reading to arrive!

Finally,  Skywatcher,  taken at Dusk,  a week or so ago:

We've been having the most unusual weather - it's perfect weather anywhere in the world, but unusual for August in Cali.
Hope your days are going well.  Remember, when your thinking is way out of control, that "It's only a thought" , and, usually it is.    You deserve to be in control of your thoughts.  You deserve this respite!

TGIF, railing at the How-Two-Year-Old-Minds-in-Three Piece Suits-Blew-the-World-Up machine, and some Buddhist and Taoist legend

But, just think!  In a few days it will be Monday again.  *Sobs*

One of the most wonderful people in the world died a couple of weeks ago.  And her daughter is devastated.  I'm trying to think of ways to help this great kid.  I call her kid because our girls were nearly the same age.  My heart breaks for my friend's daughter.

Friday Fill-ins:  If the gals who do Friday fill-ins do come back this week, their MeMe will be here just above this line of words.....

I think that all of us who give a flip are trying to recover our sense of balance in a world where the escalation of violence roars frightfully along toward some sort of unthinkable brink.  I truly don't see enemies here, but I do see that, globally, most people are trying to stop something like a chain reaction of atoms under intense pressure.  But ,sprinkled in among these people are those who have decided, for whatever reason - either that everything belongs to they themselves even if someone else has it - or Conversely -  it's because they are tired of seeing little children getting blown to bits half an earth away and not enough people caring about it.  And, I see that, all over the world, there are still wonderful people trying to stop this madness, insanity if you will.  You probably know what I mean, as there are those needing to be cured of "this insanity".  Think "Avatar".

Spirit trails:  Today, I found out that I have too many "buffalo" (bits and pieces I do not need, even for an avid crafter). So, I'm busy tidying up after all the "buffalo", so I probably won't post as much but will try to keep up with all of your blogs.  I call the detritus of crafting "buffalo" because there is a Buddha story about this.

It is written that a very upset man came running down the road toward where Buddha sat with his followers - at a "Y" junction in a road.  The man was hot and out of breath, and asked hurriedly if any of them had seen his herd of water buffalo.   They all said that they had not, so the man rushed off down the other leg of the "Y", in search of his animals.  The Buddha turned back to his followers and said, "Now, that man has too many Buffalo!"  Well, the lesson's been taken.

I see Kuan Yin as inspirational, sort of like an Oriental Mother Mary, and I do so love Mother Mary.

This next piece, of Taoist Legend, is from HERE, and pretty much tells how I feel about the World as circumscribed by humans:  Make this picture BIG.  She's lovely....and expensive.

Gorgeous Guan Shih Yin Statue
Borrowed from the internet.
Most beautiful one I've ever seen.

"Guan Shih Yin

Guan Shih Yin, called “Guan Yin” or “Kuan Yin” for short, is the Bodhisattva of Karuna, or Compassion. Guan means “to observe, watch, or monitor”. “Shi” means “the world”, and “yin” means “sounds”, specifically the sounds of those who suffer. The name therefore translates to mean “one who hears the cries of the world”. The Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara was depicted in the Lotus Sutra as male and female, so that he/she could assume any form necessary in order to help others. The word “karuna” means “to weep”. Karuna is our ability to relate to another so intensely that his or her plight affects us as much as if it had been our own. The Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara was apparently so overwhelmed with the task of saving so many people that Amitabha Buddha (the Buddha of boundless light) gave him 11 heads and 1000 arms so that he could hear the cries of the suffering people, and help as many as possible. Eventually, Avalokitesvara was able to deliver all sentient beings from suffering, so that they were all enlightened. Enthused, he reported the success of his efforts to his spiritual father, Amitabha. Amitabha asked Avaolkitesvara to look behind him.

Turning back, Avalokiteshvara saw the world being filled with new sufferers, and shed tears of compassion. It is said that Avalokitesvara’s tears gave birth to the female embodiment of compassion. When Buddhism came to China in the 12th century, the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara morphed into a female figure named Kuan Yin. The legend during that time was of a Buddhist saint named Miao Shan. Miao Shan was the human personification of Kuan Yin. She was a Chinese princess who refused to get married. She wanted to be a nun and dedicate her life to spiritual matters. Her father, enraged by her decision, ordered the nuns to give her the most detestable and difficult chores at the nunnery. This did not deter Kuan Yin, and she eventually received help from all of the animals surrounding the nunnery. Her father, seeing this, became so frustrated that he attempted to burn down the temple. Kuan Yin put out the fire with her bare hands and suffered no burns. Struck with fear, her father ordered her to be put to death.

After she died, Kuan Yin was transformed into a goddess for all of her kindness and began her journey to heaven. She was about to cross over into heaven when she heard a cry of suffering back on earth. Kuan Yin asked to be sent back to earth and vowed to stay until all suffering had ended. Due to the fact that Kuan Yin symbolizes compassion, Kuan Yin is associated with vegetarianism."

I truly hope that you do
All this makes me think, therefore I should knit as an antidote!   There are so many beings still stuck in the mud.  I'll gladly help if only I can figure out how to accomplish this task!

Yes yes, I'm tired and wired.. Another QUIZ thing!

This was so true that I HAD to post it. Jazzie was the most happy and playful dog I've ever had.

You Should Own a Poodle

Lively, smart, and graceful.

The Word that Describes me?

It is supposed to be Peace...

Your Word is "Peace"

You see life as precious, and you wish everyone was safe, happy, and taken care of.

Social justice, human rights, and peace for all nations are all important to you.

While you can't stop war, you try to be as calm and compassionate as possible in your everyday life.

You promote harmony and cooperation. You're always willing to meet someone a little more than halfway.

I found the quiz on Liana's Blog

She is and has been a great help with the Aran Sweater. And she has an absolutely awe inspiring sewing and knitting blog.

However, getting back to the word, "Peace".

I'd say most of the time, this word fits me. But I get so incensed lately about the creaking slow march of any sort of human rights progress, like on Torture {!!!!} practiced and AND defended by people who are HIGH up in this government of ours (!!!!) or the newest Coup in Honduras, that I hardly feel any peace at all.

So, I'll keep knitting and making post cards and trying to find the beauty of life. In the ordinary things, and translate it into jewelry and photographic art.

Something fun - a RetroHairdo meme

I kind of got the idea from a very modern hairdo on Cinderellen's blog.

I'm starting it, and if you wanna join in feel free. Mine is from a picture taken in the mid 60's at my SILs house. Remember the Bubble? Hahahaha!

The Picture MEME

Ok, I've been romping through the blog list and at AR's Blog, she had just done a MEME, and threw it up into the air at the end to all who were interested. So here goes.

This is the fourth picture in the fourth folder. And here follows the four facts about it:

1. It is a series picture. I'm the unlucky pole sitter at that spot.
2. S was making a topping for her french onion soup on Christmas Eve, and she had burnt the pine nuts.
3. R decided to take a series of pictures of us showing true Horror at the burnt nuts.
4. I am giving my most horrified look. It wasn't easy because I was hungry enough to eat an old boot by this time.

There you have it. Horror on Christmas Eve, according to R.

PS. You should see the face she can make. She's been to the Middle East!

I will leave this up to anyone who would like to do this, it's fun, and who hasn't already done The Photo MEME. Cheers!

A Promised MEME .. stolen from Sarah-Hope's blog

1. What were you doing ten years ago?

Ten years ago I was fighting a private war, that long road that striving for Unconditional Love usually travels. I kept my own council, sealed my shattered little heart away, not trusting anyone with the knowledge of the path I'd chosen. I had to deal with problems that had gathered for many years. There were decades of steely eyed looks of false friendship from jealousy, xenophobic people, and other strange psychic illnesses clothed in human forms, that stepped all over my soul, and dealt out a shit load of rejection.

I was able to take the shattered pieces of my mind and heart, so trusting and innocent at first, and patch them back together over time. Patience, prayer and a strict attention to detail in the mending, as well as all of the love of my own little family, has insured that the once fragile sense of safety in my mind was again whole. I could love with the complete and beautiful extension of Unconditional Love, a birthright of all humans.

2. What are five non-work things on your to-do list for today/tomorrow?

*Read a book that is a bit scary but fun in a black way. Accordion Wars by e. annie proulx. I'm half way through the book and am beginning the think either this accordion brings very bad luck to the people who happen upon it, or I should just settle in and feel sorry for the accordion, and all it's own bad luck. I hope that you'll read this book and give me a full report on how it ruined your moods! No no.. don't read it. The daily news is really enough, and isn't that what we are trying to escape from by reading? No knitting is getting done, but a heck of a lot of obsessive reading to find a glimmer of HOPE in the life of one of the human characters. I might have called this book, Accordion Assassin.

* Eat well. My diet excludes some very wonderful and delicious foods and beverages, no dairy, no legumes, no wines, no coffee, but what I can have I enjoy to the utmost! I read lots and lots of Vegan foodie sights because I actually don't like meat. I have to eat it, but I do NOT like it much. I think of the animals when I eat it, say a quasi Native American prayer for it's life, and just eat it. It's protein.

* Watching a movie called "Saving Grace" yet again before having to send it back.

* Enjoying breathing in and out, watching the birds in the cape honeysuckle, and enjoying my eyesight no end!

*I will be taking surrepticious peeks at the kitchen when the cabinetmakers are at lunch or on breaks. When they leave for the day, I will sneak back in and turn on the new countertop lights, dim them with that cunning new switch, and be enchanted by their mysterious power over my imagination. At night, the dim lights make the kitchen look like one of the officer's quarters (apartments) on the spaceship Enterprise.

3. What snacks do you enjoy?

Malt balls. Those enormous malt balls come out of a dispenser at Henry's and other HIGH END (lol) Health food stores. I also like Soy Dream as well as tofuti chocolate frozen dessert. Pie! Chocolate cake, filled with raspberry creme, frosted with chocolate slathered on THICK, I tell you.. thick!

4. What would you do if you were a billionaire?

I would set aside money for the family, for education, housing and emergencies. That's a big family we are talking about here. The rest would go to local and national or international environmental orgs, organic farmering orgs, alternative energies, and, particularily to grant writing experts who do pro bono work so that cities the size of San Diego don't sit on their hands and let big government grants for things like treating empoverished diabetics slip away. This just happened and it was worth some millions to the agencies starving for money to treat the growing army of the poor. It should never happen, and some of the money would go to insure that it doesn't happen in any California city. Money would go into agencies that are buying land to save it from improper uses, saving land like farm land, wet lands, heritage lands that should be allowed to go back into wildernesses. If there's any left after that, DH and the family and I might go to Italy and live there for awhile. Anyone want to come along?

5. What are some of the places you’ve lived?

Summers in Ohio as a child, otherwise, California. All in the Southern half, though I am and always was, at heart, a Central Coaster.

6. What are some of the jobs you’ve had?

Carpenter- earned clothes and college money
Frosty freeze-earned my guitar -love that thing.
Library-pocket change
Telephone operator-roof and food
Yarn Shop-earned my yarn and knitting machine
Fabric Shop- what else? Fabric!
Teacher's Aid- fun with kids. Yay! Love kids!

7. What peeps do you want to know more about?

George Clooney. Not as a hunk, mind you, but here is the guy who made the movie, "Syriana". I respect that a lot. I would have loved to meet Beverly Sills for a chat. Both Galbraithe and Keynes, as I want to know their take on modern American economic unrealities. You know them as, "Voodoo Economics", from the Reagan meltdowns.

Let's see, what was that question again?

I stole this from my friend Sallyjo's blog. I thought it was a cute idea. I do not feel superior at all. In fact a 1930's man would have got the boot.

100

As a 1930s wife, I am
Very Superior

Take the test!

I think it's because I have a man I didn't want to kill and bury after the first six months. Ya, that's the reason. He's a really nice man.

This diet is making me cranky. I did try for a little garden beauty this afternoon but ended up with a tiny golden blur suspended between two fern fronds. It was an incredibly little garden spider who suns herself there every day. I'll try again tomorrow provided the birds didn't get her. Spiders aren't as skittish around cameras as wild birds, or the family dog.

Take care, keep knitting. It's the only real sane thing to do when you cannot ban the criminals -and you know who you are!- to some desert island, Not a paradise mind you, but a real desert. They all seem to want the deserts very very badly. Let's give them the deserts!

I'm into thievery lately. Stealing another quiz,

This time from Sallyjo at LiVE BAiT SANDWiCHES.

How to Win a Fight With a Conservative is the ultimate survival guide for political arguments

My Liberal Identity:

You are a Reality-Based Intellectualist, also known as the liberal elite. You are a proud member of what’s known as the reality-based community, where science, reason, and non-Jesus-based thought reign supreme.

One lovely, new hybrid has occurred amongst the Epiphyllum or Orchid Cactus. I'm sure it's Daddy is Padre. It's big and strapy and just might be a giant white/padre cross. These things happen, and they are a joy.

No body calls me Sweetheart

Stolen from Bess:

You Are a Hazelnut

You are very unique and distinct. You may even freak some people out.

Most people don't really know how to interact with you.

You get along best with anyone who is super sweet.

But you really do get along with almost anyone. You just need a chance to wow them.

The State of the State

You're California!

In many ways, you are larger than life and almost defy description. You
certainly love to shake, rattle, and roll with the best of them. You have a generally
sunny disposition, but are capable of resorting to harsh extremes when pressed. You are
more likely than most to become rich, or famous, or perhaps both. While you have the
golden touch in so many regards, your respect for actors is a little over-zealous. This
endless faith in actors needs to be terminated.

Take the State Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.

I stole this from Catherine's Blog. I love the thing about having to terminate this endless faith in Actors. As if HollyWooood was all there was about California. We do have Tahoe and San Francisco for heaven's sake. LOL!

Kristi's Color meme

Kristi would like to have knitters answer these questions for some research she is doing. I first saw this meme on on Liz's Page, A Stitch in Time. The questions are interesting and anytime there's something to think about regarding colors it's a good thing. An escape hatch into a different world. Color is one of the best things in life, and mostly, it's free. ;-)

I've copied her intro, and the meme. If you would like to do the meme, I'm sure she would love to have your input. She suggests leaving a message for her on her blog.

Kristi says:

"I’m only starting to formulate the posts for these so if you have some specific questions about color or color and knitting, leave a comment! In the meantime, perhaps you would like to fill out a meme on color – either at your own blog and link back to this post or in the comments… Just cut and paste and answer and spread the word!"

1. What is your current favorite color? .......Green

2. Had your favorite color changed over the years?........ Yes, my favorite was yellow, then Blue, when I was younger.

3. Is your current favorite color one that is currently trendy? (Do you see it in the fashion rags or on the clothes rack or in the linen aisle right now? How about 5 years ago?).........I'm not sure, but it's been my favorite color for many years. Maybe 40 years.

4. What is your favorite color combination? ........Blue and brown.

5. Is that combination a popular one? (Is it used in prints you see in the stores and catalogs and magazines now? How about 5 years ago?)...........This combination has been used for ages in art. Chinese art uses it, and some other south asian art cloth; it's a favorite combination in Native American Art as well. It's used a lot in Ceramics.

6. What is your favorite way of using color in your knitting? (Are you a stranded knitter? Do you prefer simple stripes? Do you prefer just accents at the hems/collars?)...........I actually like fair isle knitting the best for combining color.

7. What colors look good on you? ..........Blues of all shades, pink, coral, very dark greens and browns, grays and shades of white.

8. What colors look bad on you?......... Yellows and green, tans.

9. Do you wear colors that don’t look good on you just because you like them? No, I really look terrible in the colors, even though one is my current favorite and one a past favorite.

10. What is your favorite neutral color? black/white/ivory/tan/brown/gray – if brown or gray do you prefer cool or warm versions of those or does it matter? And, how dark? I like Ivory but Brown as well. Very dark rich browns all the way to tans.

11. Is there a sweater pattern that uses more than one color that you’d like to make, but you wish to change the colors from what is published? If yes, which one? What do you not like about the published colors?
Yes. If I were to make another fair isle for my brother, I would make it in colors of blue and brown with ecru and turquoise no matter what colors were used in the pattern. It's from a very old bernat pattern pamphlet and just uses MC and CC and what have you in the yarn choices.

The Eight Random Things About Me MEME

Rho sort of issued an APB on her blog to anyone who would like to take up the Eight Random Things MEME and run with it. I told her I would. I will not be tagging anyone but, like Rho, I will say that if you haven't been tagged and you would like to do this fun MEME, just Go For It Wild Thang!

First here are the rules as are required to be posted:

The rules:
1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged write a blog post about their own 8 random things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog you need to tag 8 people and post their names.
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Eight Random Things About me... and boy are they ever random....

1. I like long fingernails until they start getting in the way, then I cut them all off short. The longest my fingernails have been in the last year is 3/4th of an inch off the tip of the fingers, and that was because my arm was in a cast.

2. I love Ravens, not Crows, but Ravens. They have always fascinated me. One reason is that, like Parrots, they can learn how to talk. I like the way they clack their beaks.

3. I'm nearly four inches shorter than I was when I was 20 years old.

4. When the kids all moved out I wanted to have a pack of five very tiny dogs. It would have been cute to walk them all and I could have five different breeds of dog without too much space. Soon, however, we started to go rock hounding to the desert with our group, and decided on NO dogs because most of the ones we saw out in the desert weren't well behaved, no matter what size they were. Now we have one tiny poodle who costs enough in upkeep as 5 dogs his size anyway.

5. I play on line games and love them. They are really fun. I get to kill BIG monsters with awesome looking weapons and armor I make myself. I like dressing my paper dolls, and making things for other players, too.

6. I was a certified intramural Basketball referee in High School. I still have my card and the whistle that was sort of a trophy piece for passing the exams. I love Basketball but can no longer play any contact sport.

7. I'm a Glass Half full kinda person, but I think too much maintaining this attitude. Perhaps it's best to switch, now, so that I can stop thinking so much.

8. I went all the way through Brownies and Girl Scouts and was a Senior Scout. I'm still pretty proud of that. Scouting is a great thing, if you get a good leader. My Co-leaders were not very nice people, and my two girls suffered when they were in Brownies. It was really a shame they couldn't share my good experiences.

T is for Trash, or maybe .. Treasure

Most people probably wouldn't admit this, but I'm not proud. I used to pick through other people's offerings at the curb, and along with weekly browsing at the thrift stores, flea markets, and garage sales, furnished my first home, sometimes with remarkable objects. I once found a lovely framed oil painting of a fishing boat. It's truly amazing what was being let go of in the early sixties. It was a fabulous cast off world out there.

I liken it to the Oregon trail, being just slightly behind all the other folks going West, and having a big empty wagon to fill up. A person would be able to pick up whatever the people on ahead weren't able to haul any farther. This was way WAY before the so called shabby chic business ever was a concept. This was survival with style, grace and aplomb. Most of the people I knew did it because we sure didn't have enough money in those days. Money is an M word. It's hopefully not THE most important M word, but it's really hard to get by without enough of it. But, that's a story for another time.

The latest ABC MeMe

I picked this up from Rissa, of Rissa's Pieces, who got it from Joshilyn Jackson of Faster Than Kudzu blog

A- Available or single? I am singularily unavailable, have been for years, and am glad of it.

B- Best Friend? Mary Jane is my best friend, and we share a love of digging up, cutting up, and grinding of rocks. We like to make jewelry, selling it in the freeze-your-butt-off winter shows as well as the hot-as-hades summer ones. We also like baking nice tasty stuff, and gardening, and RVing with friends. We are pretty close when we remember to call each other.

C- Cake or Pie? Absolutely Pie! I like savory meat or cheese pies and sweet berry pies, cream pies and fruit pies. Lemon Meringue is the most fun pie to make.

D- Drink of Choice? Earl Grey, and it has to be decaf because it's all my stomache can stand anymore. Earl Grey tastes good with Pie!

E- Essential Item? I would not like to try to live without my camera. Second place has to go to my knitting needles, but you will have to pry them from my cold, dead fingers if anyone tries to take them away from me.

F- Favorite Color? Yellow. I can't wear it but if I could, that is what I would wear nearly all the time.

G- Gummi Bears or Worms? I don't eat non-chocolate candy because the carbs aren't worth it to me. Are there chocolate gummi bears? I would eat them, but not worms. nooo noo nooo...

H- Hometown? Hollywood. It's the closest thing to Hometown I will ever have. I was conceived there before my Dad was sent off to boot camp and my mom followed him around the country.

I- Indulgence? Chocolate French silk Pie. Jacuzzi whirlpool bathing in candlelight.

J- January or February? February because that's when the Carolina Cherry trees bloom and they are the hallmark of Spring for my city. I love to see their white blossoms all over town.

K- Kids and names? Kids, four DDs, I will only say that they carry names of classical English actresses or authors, with the addition of my DD2 having the name of my favorite maternal auntie.

L- Life is incomplete without? Learning to love unconditionally. For me, that is the be all and end all of perfect surrender to the deepest laws of the universe.

M- Marriage Date? October 26th, and I am the one who always forgets the anniversary. DH brought roses home late one day, and I was watching him come to the house with them, thinking, "What on earth is this all about?" It was our anniversary. He gets the biggest kick out of surprising me on that day with a card or flowers. I've remembered only once in 43 years, and that's because I had to get the baby sitter.

N- Number of Siblings? Two brothers and one sister. One brother died a long time ago but we always remember him. My sister, brother and I are close emotionally and we get along well. We always did. My brother and I protect our "little sister".

O- Oranges or apples? Anymore, I can only eat apples. I like them raw or cooked. They are lovely and have a delicious fragrance. We used to go pick them in two of the more famous mountain communities in SoCal, Oak Glen and Alpine, that you can do that in.

P- Phobias/Fears? Fire! Brush fires and House fires. I watched a farm house burn down a couple of farms away one night when I was three, and I just absolutely freak about fire.

Q- Favorite Quote? "For God hath not given us the Spirit of Fear, but of Power, and of Love, and of a sound Mind." 2 Timothy 1:7..

R- Reason to Smile? People who are kind and humorous, both family and friends. Also, my darling little golden bear of a dog.

S- Season? I like Winter. It's the only time it nearly the perfect temperature all day in the house, and the air gets clean and crisp in the winter here.

T- Tag three people! I'm not sure who may have already done this. Lynne who lives on the edge of the woods in the New Jersey wilds, or Allie who knits away in the USA, or AR who is really bloggin' hot this month!

U- Unknown Fact About Me? What I haven't revealed about myself before, I might not want the kids to know! Sheesh.. let me think about this one. I used to sing solos in grade school and high school in the choirs. I kept singing after I got married but the kids know that already.

V- Vegetable you hate? The only vegetable that I can't stand the smell of is the black eyed pea.

W- Worst habit? Eating burned popcorn. I love it really carbonized, and it's probably not good for a body.

X- X-Rays you’ve had? Many, many ex-rays of my legs, back, lungs, and CTs of my head from childhood to the present, with ex-rays of my broken wrist and hand being the most recent.

Y- Your favorite food? Any sort of cheese.

Z- Zodiac? An fabulous and useful inflatable boat I would love to have. Yes, I know :O) I was born in the Cusp of Capricorn and Sagittarius. Born under a bad sign.

I messed up my theme.

And I can’t get the old one back.  Hope this is readable.  Still working on it.  Tried something from the P.C.and that was a  MISTAKE,
