Day lilies go to prison

Something had to be done about the maurauding tortoises, so we put up a fence. The lilies don't mind at all. This way they can put energy back into their leaves after the flowers grow. The torts ate the leaves all the way back down to the bulb, the rascals!

When the tiny day lilies go into dormancy, in late fall, I will dig them up and pot them.
