This interesting link to a PDF paper discussing the slowing down of the Pacific plate, the largest one on the planet, is why I'm concerned about the meddling done by way of a very large uber mega ton atomic test, practically down the throat of a volcano in Amchitka, in 1971. There is turbulence enough in the area without the addition of something man made.
These man apes really piss me off sometimes with their macho stupidity.
I promise, if you read this slowly and let your imagination flow, you will be able to understand the models.
Remember, the "skin" we all live on is like the skin on an apple. We are like the bacteria on the skin of an apple if you will. It's that thin. We should be a little more respectful, you would think, eh?
Two things. The lithosphere is what we live on top of generally, and the Asthenosphere is what is just underneath that.
It's all one big ball and the wind does not "respect" man made borders. I read about increased radiation on the US east coast this morning. Hey, people, we all LIVE here! This is the only place where human beings live! To quote the Tick "The Earth?!? That's where I keep my stuff!"
ReplyDeleteI just heard that too, and of course it reached here - radioactive iodide - a day or two ago. "Here" being the West Coast. That stuff will mess with the thyroid gland. I love how government agencies decide what will harm a human or not.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very tiny ball of rock and metal, this Earth, hung delicately in an orbit around a medium sized star. We mess with the Planet to our peril.
An Indian Scientist - an astrophysicist that I don't recall the name of at present- when asked about "end of the world scenarios" and the "Big Bang" theory said that as a species we really have no idea how we might step over an unseen line and end ourselves, or if the Lord might just decide to flick us off into Space before that happens. I think of that a lot. Lord Krishna may just decide to suddenly inhale. It's a possibility, eh?
