What can you pledge to do For Earth Hour?
Our story: Our family has and has had solar water heating since 1984. We use as many new technology fluorescent lighting bulbs as we can, drive as little as possible, as we don't own all energy efficient vehicles. One is a real gas hog but it gets driven little.We always bought used/recycled furnishing and clothing and whatever as much as possible...everything. We recycle everything, and compost as much stuff as possible.
We upgraded rapidly over the years to more and more efficiency because we live in the place where Climate Change was first recognized as a real threat, and we believed the professors at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. So, we got the early warning, and it was dire even then. The changes were there, in the Ocean, so we "got it", and we changed. We understand it's Earth First or nothing else matters.
For Earth Hour, we are turning off the lights, and heat, turning off the computer, and not watching Netlix. If we think of something else, something more exciting, like DH dyeing his beard blue, I'll let you know. ;-)
But, mark your calendars and plan for something interesting and fun. Go camping indoors!
