Sunday Stealing Shoes?

One Thing Meme

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's meme. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from this new meme or recently asked questions from a previously featured meme.
Let's go!!!

One Thing .....

that makes you smile:
I love to watch the birds in the garden and everywhere.

that makes you cry:
The way people ill-treat animals and other people.

that you love to do on the weekends:
There is no place to dash off to and the pace is slower.

that you do for only yourself:
I keep getting all my craft junk organized to make it go away into one room.

that you have in your underwear drawer that's NOT underwear:
I keep my scarves in there, too.

that you do before going to sleep:
I read myself to sleep.  It works best.

that you do within the first 15 minutes after waking:
Thank God for letting me have another day, and then starting moving around to make sure everything is up and running properly.

that's in your purse:
a penlight

that you actually LIKE to clean:
I like to clean everyhing

that you DETEST cleaning:
I like to clean every thing, but then, I've never had to crawl around under a house and clean the drains!  That's an awful job!

that other people would find odd about you:
I talk to plants and really send them loving thoughts because I think it helps them in their little lives.  People would think that's odd.

that you would buy if I handed you a $100 bill:
I'd buy a pink plastic clip board and a couple of pairs of summer sandals at Overstock or somewhere like it.   I still want the Pradas with flashing tail lights, however, $100 bucks is not going to run these puppies down.

Whoooo baby!

that you feel you HAVE to do before you die:
I need to organize and sell off craft stock.  Or, I HAVE to run away from home and travel all over the country to meet my people.  I want to meet Americans from everywhere.  There is an email that has traveled around since 911 called, "What is an American?".  I'd like to meet my people.  Documentaries can only take you so far...

  1. Oh, those shoes! I can't decide if I think they're killer or fabulous! ;-)

    1. They are Killer Fabulous! ;-) They are also, of course, so pricey that you could practically get whole house air-conditioning put in just for the price of a pair of these airy shoes. They are, of course, modeled after Chevy and probably Cadillac Classic car tail lights. Brilliant Shoes!

  2. Harley Jane Kozak wrote a book? Who knew?..
I have a popular backyard with the birds and squirrels. They are fun to watch.

    1. Hey there. Actually, Harley Jane Kazak has written a short series of very good and very funny murder mysteries. She will be writing more with a different heroine. Her publishing company was bought by another Bigger Fishie.

We have ground squirrels here, and they are pretty entertaining from time to time. But we don't feed birds, per se, anymore so the little quadrupedal fellas don't show up as much now. I put up a picture of the last one we actually saw in the yard. He came to eat some apple peels we put out for the possums.

  3. Maybe if I had talked to all my house plants over the years, they would still be alive. I do ok with all my outdoor plants because nature takes care of itself.

    1. I talk to park trees, lol. But, talking to other living things makes sense. They seem to like it because they are truly sensitive to even our thoughts, if that documentary, "What the $#@*! Do We Know", is right. Once a person watches that film, life doesn't seem so lonely. So, the lesson is, think good thoughts around the plants! Blow them kisses! They will like that and the neighbors won't think you are suffering from an incurable insanity because you are verbal with the plants. Whisper? That works. hehe

  4. there was actually a study done i think where people talked to their plants and the plants flourished. :)

i would also love to travel everywhere as well. *sigh* one day!

    1. Yes! There have been several independent studies that show that. So interesting, too! Hi Liahuna. And, I hope you get to travel more in your future, the good sort of travel. Yes! One Day we shall travel! :o)

  5. I don't think you're odd for talking to your plants. My grandmother did, too, and she had over 100 houseplants that were all wonderfully healthy so I can't fault the theory. I don't talk to mine...maybe that's why they seem to have good periods and bad. Love your header picture with the sweet little deer peeking out from among the violets. :)

    1. Thanks Stacy, both for thinking me not mad, and for liking the header. Those are the the puff deer herd. I think they like it there, too. Your grandmother is my kind of Gal. I used to have about 50 house plants. They react to the CO2 in our breath, too. Before they hooked plants up to electronics, the scientists just theorized that the CO2 was the reason they thrived. No... They didn't like thoughts about being burnt, and cut and other stuff, too. See? Intelligence that doesn't speak it's name?

  6. Wow, those shoes! I did a post once on all the unusual shoes I found on the internet. It was kind of fun. I should do another one. I actually half- heard a story on the radio the other day about talking to plants. I don't remember all of it but something about it being good. Why not? It certainly can't hurt. I also enjoy watching birds. Especially early in the morning when they seem to be very active in my yard. Had a couple pretty little yellow chickadees this morning too.

  7. Dawn, sometimes I miss replying! Sorry! I want to see your shoe post. I have a shoe thang, though I still own less than 20 pairs, I could have bought out Emelda at one point in life. The really fancy ones like those above are architecture and art all rolled into one little uncomfortable package! Love them!

Ohhh yellow chickadees I must look up! And yes, just keep on talking to the plants. Thank the trees in the park, through your thoughts though so as not to scare the birds, squirrels or nearby humans who will see you in a different light if you even whisper. The humans will grab the kiddies and back slowly away with them tucked behind their backs. just kidding. Well, almost just.....
