Sunday Stealing... Brain Transplant Update... yes, I need one.

January 3, 2015
Updated.. Hope that Google+ picks this up, which it is apparently very bad at!

2014/2015 Meme
Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from. We also provide a link to the victim's meme in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from this new meme or recently asked questions from a previously featured meme.
Cheers to all of us thieves!!!

Bloodletting and brutality from the top down.  How about yours?  UPDATE:  It was late when I answered this and it's not right.  This year my relationships with my kids have really gotten better.  For some reason I thought this was about my original family... you know, my own parents and childhood.  Sorry!  Next thing on the medical list is a brain transplant!

17.What book or movie affected your life in a profound way?  Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea.  I blame Julies Verne for making me a story teller.  I got big plans after that book.  And yes, I asked for and got a typewriter at 8.  It was a used, reconditioned one from Royal.

  1. I love my butterfly bushes! I have pink and a dark purple, and the butterflies love them. But so do the bees. Big bees. That like to fly at you if you come near them. Just be warned..

    1. I will be very happy to have the butterfy bushes then! And, I love bees, and we have the killer ones here. I hope you've been spared that breed! My "almost killer bee tale" will go on the tiny joys list. I think I just happen to have really pissed a good European bee off royally because it accepted my apology. hehe Killer bees usually don't!

  2. Butterfly bushes are so pretty! And they seem so far away (as I listen to the beep of the snow plow backing up).

I enjoy your answers, as always.

    1. Oh my, snow plows.. sheesh! But then the aquifers are being rebuilt which is good. Maybe the *people/creatures* who live inside the earth got warnings from their climate control machines to turn up the precipitation in Middle Earth so that the Ogallala will refill and allow them to draw from it again for their big community gardens inside all the undiscovered caves. Sort of joking....

Say, you have some butterfly bushes around too? That's very good! Yes, they are gorgeous plants. agree!

  3. It sounds like you had quite a year with the medical things as I did. Ugh! I too wish doctors were a bit more understanding. That cartoon is totally me--I'm always searching the internet for answers because my doctors don't give me any, and when I come back with what I found, I get eyerolls. *sigh* Oh well, hope you have a better 2015. Love the picture in the header, by the way!

    1. Doctors forget that they are NOT all knowing GODS! There's a huge population of smart and info savvy people amongst the general population that does not FEAR their WRATH! hehe

I hope you also have a better year in 2015. And thanks about the picture. I might keep it up until Christmas in July! Christmas does seem to come earlier every successive year. ;o) The trees came down today.

  4. I refuse to take cholesterol medicine. The medical establishment is all about money, now, and not about healing. Not at all.

    1. Oh yes, me too, absolutely refuse! My BIL took statins long enough to get permanent pain in his legs. I do take red yeast rice extract and CoQ10, though.

I don't think that big Pharma, though it has the "ear" of the doctors, is in it for more than the money. And without doctors to prescribe they have no market for their faulty "cures", like Zetia. It needs to be removed from the market yet again! Our problem is that the fox, the Big Pharma, has moved into the hen house, the hip pocket, of the regulatory agencies, like the FDA, and the University research facilities. Bad Karma there!

  5. We keep having to learn and do something new for our bodies. That in itself is pretty stressful if you ask me

    1. Oh yes, it is,indeed, very stressful.

And I shudder to think what happens for people who don't have a cadre of family members and others who are working away at this for them. Because every time a person has an operation, there is a time when their brains don't work properly. How can they protect themselves without children and hubbies who can do it? We do this for my sister, brother in law, neighbors, etc. The internet chat rooms that support people in their illnesses can be full of misinformation, but just adding up anecdotal knowledge about a certain drug's effects can be enlightening.

  6. I love the comic, I am guilty of doing that to my doctor and he hates it..maybe thats why the woman has red hair in the comic, hehe!

    1. Hey, Kara, your doctor better get used to it! And enough of us are right, often enough, they should get a clue!

I always remind myself that all doctors did NOT graduate at the top of their class, and there is room for improvement in everyone's knowledge base! They, doctors, can't allow themselves to get all of their information from the Drug company reps tolling the halls of the clinic!

Hee hee.. I think the red hair may be symbolic of *trouble*in everyone's eyes, because of temperament. But, still, I know plenty of Latinas who do NOT take crap off anyone! I do have four daughters with red hair, well, three and a half. Elle's hair is not quite red.
