Friday Five Minutes: Open, and Friday5

The word we are going to write about is. "Open".

If you want to join in this interesting and challenging, and FUN meme, just click on THIS LINK for Kate's blog, and she has a link to explain how it all works.

Five minutes of Jack Kerouac writing, i.e., Stream of Consciousness Writing.

Open:

As we grow, we either open to life or we learn, from being subjected to parental limits on our exuberance, to close ourselves to Life''s Possibilities.   We learn to be afraid, to exclude others, or to draw the same circles of exclusion as our parents have.  This can be good and bad, depending on how it's done.

Later, as our circles expand to include school mates and friends in the neighborhood, we learn to be a little more open to the possibilities that are in a world we may have been raised to think as full of dangers and certainly things to be feared.

Our hearts open up.  We expand and open our minds.  Finally we become adults and we can go anywhere we want to!  We are open to all the possibilities that we learn to reach for, either through education, or daring do, or just wishing to walk to the tops of mountains or visit places.  Having our own transportation, free from the prying eyes of parental control, gives us the chance to open our "wings" and live the life we were meant to live.

We are then considered "free".  That's what "open" can mean to a human being.  Freedom with all it's responsibilities, and it's dangers and it's joys.

Can't Help myself, I'm Falling...

Friday5 for the 20th of February

I will put a button up for this in the meme's in the near future.  Right now, the title is the link back to friday5, which is a fun meme for a friday.  Short, sweet, and not a lot of rules.!

After I finish this, I'm casting on the sleeves for the pink Stardust sweater.  That is, if I have enough needles.

The skinny:

Hello, and welcome to this week’s Friday 5! Please copy these questions to your webspace. Answer the questions there; then leave a comment below so we’ll all know where to check out your responses. Please don’t forget to link us from your website!

1.When did you last trip and fall?
When I broke my wrist about 10 years ago.  That was quite a fall, as it involved trying to fly.  heehee

Poor Little Toto!  Nasty flying Monkey!

2.What’s a fond memory you have of this past autumn?
We finally go AC installed!  Before that, we had a swamp cooler that worked fine until the climate changed about 1990 something, and then it was too humid here.
Yay yay yay yay!!!

3. What’s a nice waterfall you’ve visited?
I've seen the two most famous waterfalls in Yosemite, one of them being this one and of course, several others.
See More HERE
Actually, the Spring we went, one waterfall was running very high for the first time in decades because there was so much rain.  The Merced River was roaring so loudly in it's riverbed that it literally sounded like a Freeway!  Huge boulders were rolling down the river and they were making an amazing din!

4. What are your thoughts on Jimmy Fallon as host of The Tonight Show?
Sorry, haven't watch that show since Jay Leno had it, and that was only on New Year's Eve.

5. Who has most recently fallen out of your favor?
Absolutely no one.  Actually I've been seeing things in a different light for quite a few years.  Not that I'm any Pollyanna but it's been all the evidence of how lucky any of us are to escape our DNA unscathed by all the bad human characteristics embedded there.  It's pretty hard to avoid being a victim of the Fickle Finger of Fate.

This is the first one awarded by Laugh In.  The establishment takes no official position on the contents.  That's a disclaimer there.
"He who lives by the Sword will die by the Sword", and all.  You know?

Thanks for participating, and have a beautiful weekend!
