Please pass the barbed wire? Sunday stealing...

August 13, 2016

The Gal's Meme, Part Two

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser.

We Found this gem when last week we asked for memes to steal. The Gal Herself, (my friend and the author of Saturday 9) gave us this one that she stole from Kwizgiver (my friend and the author of this meme except this summer). It's long so we broke it up. As it says above, we edit and change questions. Mostly I hate yes or no questions. So I change them or delete them. Sometimes I rewrite almost every question. That also allows the person I stole it from to play. That's not a goal but it is reality. If you think hosting a meme is easy, try it once. Okay, now time for me to shout:

Cheer to all of us thieves!!

Sunday Stealing: The Gal's Meme, Part Two

What did your last text message say?
From a friend:  "Thank you very much, see you soon".  He was inquiring if we were going to run around and howl at the vampire bats and Orcs.  *wink*

Are you someone’s best friend? Tell us about your friendship.
At the moment, I'm not sure.  Can I get back to you on this?

What are you doing tomorrow?
Basically, the only thing I have planned is to wash a load of towels, and to knit a little.

What do you think of when you think of Australia?
How much I love the people.  I really get nutzo when I hear an Australian accent.  That accent is like a love magnet to me.

Last person you talked to on the phone? What about?
That was probably three weeks ago and it was drug related.
Hold on to your hats.  You see, the pharmacy called and asked if I wanted my medicines refilled.

Any plans today? Do tell.
I plan to breathe in and out and keep doing that.  And I'll knit a little more and probably watch more of an British production about an 18th century village.

What makes you happy?
Happy?  Gosh, I dunno, maybe it's waking up in the morning and not having one of my Fingers, toes, arms or legs stay behind on the bedsheet?

What’s your favorite room where you live?
The big room.  I like how many windows it has and even though there is no view whatsoever, I do like to look out at my private little overgrown jungle of plant life, and sometimes, if I'm lucky enough to have woken early enough there is a sunrise through all the south windows.

Biggest annoyance in your life right now?
I'm sad, but yet I can laugh at stupid movies like,"Mission Impossible, Rogue Nation".  That's sort of sad, isn't it?

Last movie you saw? Review, please.
See above.  And no, I am not very good at reviews.  I'll jsut say it was a great escape, and was funny.  It took away the pain for a few hours.  Actually it was quite clever in it's own weird and stupid little way.   I love spy spoofs.

If you are jealous of anyone, tell us about it.
I'm not jealous of anyone.

What is the most serious relationship you’ve had?
The one I'm in now.

Should anyone be jealous of you?
Buhahahahahaha!

What do you usually do during the work day?
Just as much as a crooked back and a gimpy foot will allow.  Basically, I move from chair to chair as I do ten minutes of this and ten minutes of that for about five or six hours a day.

Tell us about someone that you really don’t care for.
Well, God made us all, so I'll just say that there are things a certain person says and does that make me not care about whether he keeps breathing all the way through the night.  I'd call him "The Orange Menace", but that was the title of one of the cutest YouTube's that ever was done, about a little orange and white kitten.

Do you use the phrase “Have a good one” daily?
Not usually.

How old do you wish you’d be turning on your next birthday? Why?
I'll be happy to be my own age and have all my family members together in one place for that.

Do you still like amusement parks? Tell us about your last trip to one.
Well, I'm not a little kid anymore, and don't have any little kids around either.  I'm sort of past amusement parks, no matter how hard Disneyland tries to get Old Folks to come and ride the bumper cars or go splashing through a man-made lake.

How did you get one of your scars?
Bobwar, AKA Barbed wire.  Yes, it was on a cattle fence, in the olden days.  I wanted to get home quicker and took the short cut.  Now Razor wire is the stuff you never want to mess with.

You can find all sorts of fencing wires at THIS PLACE, which is where the photo came from.  I have collected rusty barbed wire since just a mere girl child.  I like the rusty stuff best.

Will you still love me tomorrow?
I'll love you 'til the day I die -all yous guys!  I'm a Soprano.  That's the way it is with us "guys".

Thank you for playing this week on Sunday Stealing! Please leave a comment or link when you have posted. Stop back and visit other player’s posts. That is really what this is all about, making new friends! Have a great week. See you next Sunday!

  1. That's some pretty wicked looking wire. I guess you're lucky you didn't get hurt worse than you did! I have a little framed barbed wire collection...only 6 or 8 little samples with labels (all rusty!) that was my dad's. When he died and we cleaned out his collections that's the one thing my husband wanted to keep so I see it every day.

  2. Ah, no, the razor wire was just to show the difference between regular and, shall we say, untouchable wire. I stay a country mile away from razor wire.
Barbed wire is pretty, even when rusty. What a sweet story about your hubby keeping your Dad's barbed wire collection. I reckon no one will want mine. Mr. Z thinks it's weird but half the people I know have some as keep sakes. Lol

  3. "The Orange Menace." LOL. Perfect.
I'd never known anyone with a barbed wire collection before...and here there are TWO of them!

    1. He IS an Orange Menace. Hahaha. What's really weird is that he's got all that money!

Ah, yes, It's a manifestation of that old saying: "You can take the girl/boy out of the farm/country but you can't take the farm/country out of the girl/boy". It's a syndrome to some Schools of Psychology.

  4. I am kind of amazed about the barbed wire collections, too. We just use it to keep the cattle in. Never thought about collecting it!

    1. Collecting it could lead to selling it on e-bay you know.

I once had about 35 feet (a mother lode) that was coiled on a fence post along the little road in Lost Coast. They'd just redone all their wire. Ranchers will sometimes hang it there for scrappers to collect. But, we put it under the motor home as Mr.Z thought it was dirty, and he then drove off without it the next day. That's doggone passive aggressive if you ask me.

    1. Happy Knitting to you. I've done two rows today and will finish another this evening. The 10 Minute Rule will work maybe.

Wishing you a very good first day tomorrow. Take your Lasso!

    1. LOL! You have to hand it to the squirrels, they just never sit still a minute anywhere, even in the forests of Santa Cruz Mountains. I could watch them for hours. They are so entertaining.

Hope you got a lot done today.
