Sunday Stealing:

"The good news is that Bev Sykes has agreed to keep Stealing alive. Not that she wants the duty, but she's willing to give it a shot. We came this (image of two arrows touching) close to closing....

I am going to actively look for a new author because Bev is really just wanting to help out. I will be contacting authors of previous question blogs. Now that we're actually here, I want to thank you guys. You were SO loyal. It's why I came back. I did expect to start looking for Kwizgiver's replacement as soon as I knew her summer break was gonna be a long one.

The last 40 questions from Bud.

Cheers to all us thieves!

Sunday Stealing: Last The 40 Questions from Bud

1. My uncle once : told me, when I was 5 years old, that I'd never understand grown ups until I was one.  I still don't understand them, Uncle John.

2. Never in my life : have I seen a Coatimundi in person, but I'd like to have one for a "pet".

3. When I was seventeen : I graduated High school.

4. High School was : trying.  I'd never want to go through it again.  God Bless the Young!

5. I will never forget : meeting my Turkish friend at Dana Point to sunbathe and swim after we both had graduated.  Dana Point at the time, had killer surf - the kind that would tumble you over and over if you didn't body surf all the way in.  We had a great time! She still lives, during the summer, at a place along the Mediterranean, and actually very near the Dardanelles in the winter.

6. I once met :  Robert Tailor in a bus station in Santa Monica.

7. There’s this girl I know who :  ... just graduated high school, and plans to be a teacher like her mama.

8. Once, at a bar : we went every week to listen to blue grass music.  Then it got to be so oppressively smoky in bars that we quit going.

9. By noon, I’m usually : feeding Wolfie his noon treat.  Yes, he's a spoiled little baby dog but we love him.

10. Last night :  we watched some of that English baking show, and then the one about living in Alaska above the arctic circle.  You have GOT to love Netflix!

11. If only I had : gone back to school and finished my education when the kids were still small.  Special Ed teachers have one of the best jobs on the planet, and I would have been one. And I would have had the money, and know-how, to send all the girls to great schools.  Teachers know tricks of the trade when it comes to getting grants and scholarships.

12. Next time I go to gym/church : I will have to remember to hold my tongue.

13. Susan Boyle : was a great and lovely happening in this world.  I wish her the best.

14. What worries me most :  Is the ignorance of what constitutes true Tyranny and Americans' willingness to put up with it!

15. When I turn my head left, I see :  a book case.

16. When I turn my head right, I see : another bookcase and a door.

17. You know I’m lying when : I'm dreaming.  I just don't lie.  It's one of the most offensive things that a civilized human does.

18. What I miss most about the eighties : probably the music.  I like that music.

19. If I was a character in Shakespeare, I’d be :  Hero.  She gets to die and come back to life.

20. By this time next year :  I hope to have a nearly empty, hyper-neatnik little house.

21. A better name for me would be : "Stargazer".  I've been called that and I like it LOTS.

22. I have a hard time understanding :  How mean, bigoted, and greedy people think. They need their own steel and cement planet.

23. If I ever go back to school, I’ll : be a special Education teacher.

24. You know I like you if : I trust you with my children.

25. If I ever won an award, the first person I’d thank would be : My husband who loved and believed in me enough to weather the early storms.

26. When I compare 80’s rock to 90’s rock :  I don't compare them.  They are a progression of possibilities and I love the evolution.

27. Take my advice, never : stop moving, even if you are crawling, keep going towards some goal you have made.

28. My ideal breakfast is :  fruit, CLIF bar, and some dark chocolate.  I'm losing weight. Wheee!

29. A song I love, but do not own is :  There are so many.  I am thankful, very, for YouTube.

30. If you visit my hometown, I suggest : that you just don't do it.  It's a filthy place where you just can't breathe.

31. My favorite Beatle is : George Harrison.

32. Why won’t people : Stop lording it over others?  We none of us gets out of this place ALIVE with ANY OF our STUFF!

33. If you spend the night at my house :  You could sleep in the lap of luxury in the RV.  That bed has a new mattress!

34. I’d stop my wedding for : someone waving a gun?   a burning altar?  A flood of biblical proportions?  I don't know what this even MEANS!

35. The world could do without : See answer # 22.

36. I’d rather lick the belly of a cockroach than : You are creeping my OUT!!!

39. If I do anything well, it’s : that I can draw anything at all.

40. And by the way : If there are EVER anymore Cockroach belly licking questions, I will sail away ... just Sail Away!

    1. It will get you through just about anything. And, since I've been through just about anything, this is tried and true.

      Happy Fourth of July!

  2. Enjoyed all your answers today. I agree with the one about none of us leaving this life alive or with all our stuff. Hold onto "stuff" lightly because it's all just borrowed during our lives, anyway!

    1. It must come as a terrible shock to disembodied spirits, but them's the facts, eh? I'm trying to get rid of "stuff". Well, other than the two stashes which I will hang onto for dear life.

  3. I hope to be de-cluttered in a year, too!

    1. I wish you every success! I'll show you mine (well, I actually have, haven't I) if you show me yours. What I mean to say is this: be sure to take before and after snaps even if they do go un-shared. It is very helpful, I'm told. I've been working on after for so many years!

  4. Congratulations on your weight loss. ATTA GIRL! Wolfie has a great face. And I toast you on your quest to de-clutter. I just took two bags to Goodwill yesterday, and this place is still packed to the rafters.

BTW, what on earth was Robt. Taylor doing in a bus station? He always seemed like a limo kinda movie star to me.

    1. Thank you, Gal. I really reached a tipping point and it was now or never. Thanks about our Wolf. He's a cutie, that little guy. We got him when no one else believed in him. I'm so happy that the pound put him up on their site. We went right down the next day.

I'm working on a bag for the goodwill. So far, I've found things that I should have parted with ages ago. I hope they can help the costumers in the local theaters! lol

The Robert Taylor thing was in the late 50's. He was with an older lady, whom I took to be an Aunt, at the bus station. Santa Monica was small in those days, and he was helping her with her bags and a ticket. Hollywood actors do try to be incognito from time to time, especially in the, "olden" days. I recognized him right away, and he absolutely STARED back at me. I got the message: "Please, keep it Shut!"

  5. Loved your answers and your wit. And WHAT was with the cockroach question?!? Yuck. If I can just get my office cleaned out ... I keep putting off my world until that happens and I keep putting that off to keep out the world, I think. Time to get off that hamster wheel.

    1. Why thank you CountryDew! I think the cockroach thing was a cringe factor question. Lol. It surely served its purpose!
About downsizing, which is what we are calling it here. I want to be free of stuff so that I can have space to actually make things like quilts, that take space. I also want to look sane. I mean appear sane. An appearance of sanity will put me in good stead with the "nether" side, if you know what I mean. 😎

  6. I'm moving from a 2300 sq. ft. house to an 800 sq. ft. house and have so much stuff. Mostly books and audio cd's, dvd's, lighthouse figurines, and lighthouse/beach pictures. I will definitely be getting rid of a lot of stuff.

    1. That will be a heroic downsize! I'm in awe. And I wish you good luck in this.
Before we added on we had 1000 sq for a family of 6, due to the surprise of twins. Space was very tight.

Downsizing is very hard. I think I''d need to have book cases lining all the walls, some with glass fronts, in order to keep my own little treasures. So, out they must go. The craft stuff, outside of knitting and sewing and a bit of wire tools, is going.

  7. Absolutely. Off that wheel. It was keeping me awake at night, the pace of progress being nearly nil! There's a certain urgency to just Get. It. Done.
I'm glad you liked the answers. This puppy was so long but fun nonetheless. God Bless Bud and Bev for working an interim plan.
