"Everyone can master a Grief but he who has it”
William Shakespeare
Greed is an incredibly contagious disease 🦠 And, it’s a shame when anyone catches it.

Wayback Wednesday, and Not Quite so wordless Wednesday. I won't link to either meme....

I put this post up on my blog 10 years ago, on Rachel Carson's 100th Birthday, HERE.

Since Heroes who inspired us came up again in a recent meme question, I'm posting this to tell a little of Rachel Carson's Story, a tiny fraction of all that she did for the future generations.

She should remain an inspiration to us all.  We will need all the courage we can muster to stop the Greed and the Guile spewing out of  mouths in Washington, DC.

  1. Yes, she was a hero! Birds are threatened still by pesticides. When will we ever learn?

    1. Wow I missed this. Sorry!

I don't think the people who count in this have enough power to change it, because a lot of them don't think they can do anything about it, or they don't know about it.

They are so busy keeping a roof over their children's heads and food on the table that they forget that all the environmental movements in South America were made up of people just like themselves, who managed, because the danger was imminent, to take back their water, for instance. They took a stand. They marched in Bolivia because one of OUR corporations (Betchel) was stopping them from collecting rain water off of their roofs in storms, so they'd to have water to drink and bath in. The water rates rose astronomically after Betchel tried to claim it all. If that's the level of indignation that it takes here, we are in for a long and tortured future.
