Welcome to Saturday 9.
What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions
every
Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times
the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random
questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants
posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your
choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme.
BIRTHDAY (2014)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
2) The video is all about baking a birthday cake. When did you most recently enjoy something home baked? Were you the baker? I was the baker. And it was probably the Christmas before last.
4) This week's song shares nothing but the title with a Beatles song. (Here's a video of Paul McCartney performing it live.) Can you think of another title that's been used by more than one song? Not at the moment.
6) Katy and actor Orlando Bloom became parents to a baby girl in 2020. Bloom is best known for his work in the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Are you a fan of either of those film series? I am a fan of both of these series.
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!
How cool that you won a public television auction! When I was a little girl, I used to try to get my parents to bid (usually on a horse or horseback riding lessons). So winning one of those auctions always seemed to me like the end of the rainbow.
ReplyDeleteYes! Exactly like that! You also wanted a horse? I think it's sad that neither of us ever got to have one. I even built a corral! That still didn't move my parents. We had a huge property on the bend of a little river, and perfect for a horse. alas... Now, the horses run free in that river valley which is part of the old Garvey Ranch. That Ranch House is now a State monument or something.
DeleteFor your sweater, is it knitting? Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteIt is knitting. I'll show you the pattern and what I've finished so far. For the LIFE of me I cannot figure out how to knit back and forth, in pattern, on the flat parts of the knitting. i.e. the non circular needle parts.
DeletePS. Happy Saturday! I slept though part of mine. lol
DeleteI’d love to see the sweater
ReplyDeleteI've knit it up to the split in In-the-round knitting, and most of the both sleeves. I've been struggling to understand how to knit the dang FLAT parts. It may be the death of me. I'll feature what is already done in an upcoming post...
DeleteWinning piano lessons sounds great! I bet you enjoyed that.
ReplyDeleteThank you and ... Oh did I EVER enjoy them. I was all set to write songs even. lol
DeleteOh how nice! Enjoy that sweater! Loved your answers. Have a nice weekend.

Thanks Lori. This thing is going to be done or my name isn't .er.. Rumpelstiltskin? You have a lovely weekend, too.
DeleteI hated to admit I've never seen either movie series.
ReplyDeleteI'm in my second childhood... since forever.. So that explains it.. or me.. lol CountryDew loves the artistry and the musical scores. While I do like those parts, I've also always wanted to be an Elf or a Pirate. ;o)
DeleteWow that sewing machine sounds great! Does it work? I have an old singer that needs work. I just set my Singer on top and sew.
ReplyDeleteIt worked, and still does. I like sewing on it. I’d always wanted one, now I have two!
DeleteMy maternal grandmother has one that my mom and sisters turned the crank on for during the Depression. They all tent camped while my grandpa followed his mechanics work. Grandma earned various barter goods by sewing clothes for her kids and doing mending and alterations for others. Grandpa was a mechanic for heavy equipment. Gee.. you got some family history..sorry..
