What looks like petals are actually the leaves of the plant. There's a green variety that looks just like the dark variety. It's so common a plant here that I was sure I'd find it on the web. No luck so far. Schwartzii is all there is on the web, and that's a succulent tree in Mexico and Central America.
My pleasure Del. It's a good thing that the pictures were taken yesterday because it's been pouring down rain off and on for hours (since yesterday at 5pm). We need this rain so much.
