Saturday Komeekz, Saturday skies, some baby torts and the big ones, too. August Happiness Challenge

August Happiness Challenge:

Read the story HERE about a Marine who helped this little guy finish a 5K race.
This made me very happy when DH sent it to me on Friday
but I already had a Friday the First Happiness post!

Blog Maintenance report:

I accidentally published this post out of sequence, a consequence of trying to rush through it all...BUT, you can now use "revert to draft", get it back off the blog, and then finalize your scheduling of it.   This will put the post back into the queue.  Who knew?

At least that is how I did it.  I thought I'd lose the whole long post but took a chance of Revert to Draft option that is along side the Publish button from time to time.

 Saturday Komeekz:

Poor little Grimmy.  He just wanted to bite the mailman! heehee

Saturday Skies:

Taken two weeks ago at Carlsbad Beach on the way home

Tort Report:
When the girls were here, they took about 700 pictures of the tortoises.  These are a few of them

Big Brother Lucky and Littlest Brother, Dusty share a rose.
We don't actually know if the smaller two torts are males but the odds are that they are.  Their shells may start fanning out to indicate females but so far that hasn't happened.  They are three years old and you really can't tell, it is said, until they are over 10 years old.  Big Brother Lucky is the only blue eyed baby, so far.  He's probably 25 years old now, being born in 1990 or so

This picture is for the scale of the babies:
The Hose is one of the fatter types

62 year old Churchy rests his chin.
When I was going through my mothers Polaroids, I found a picture of him when we first found him.
My sister was four years old in the picture, and so was he!

Churchy and Dusty.  Churchy didn't try to bite the babies, just sniff them.
Poko Ono, however, tried to bite them.  She wanted nothing to do with them.

Churchy, left, and Lucky, right.  They are always sparring

Poko Ono and her baby, Milagro.
Poko Bopped her head at the babies, and chased them away.  Funny Mama!

Last we have Gee with the little dog who thinks he's a human baby.
He kicks is feet and loves to lay back in someone's arms, ALL the time.  He's so spoiled!  hehehe
R and Wolfie.  R would like to have her own baby
so she practices by holding Wolfie
and any other baby like objects that she can get her hands on.
