Thankful Thursday: Daughter's Graduation.

Beautiful University of California at Berkeley

It's late so this is a very quick post.

Firstly, I want to thank all the teachers out there who help, cajole, encourage and teach our funny little kids to grow up and take the threads of their own destiny in their newly capable hands.

Herself, with one of her awards

I'm grateful that we were able to see our daughter graduate from UC Berkeley, with highest honors, a testament to all her hard work and the sacrifices she made to have such an achievement.

She worked to earn money to live on, and fought a battle with a serious illness during this time as well, which makes victory for her even sweeter.

There were so many amazing kids there that day, all graduates from the Department of History.

May you all be blessed with success in all your endeavors in the course of your journey through life.

Congratulations, Class of 2014!

Live Long and Prosper!

  2. Thank you! I'm still stunned and happy and over the moon. She is 41 and decided that it was never too late to go back to school as long as a person wanted to and was able. She won a scholarship to Berkeley and never looked back.

    1. Thank you Kara. I think she's terribly relieved to have all of it over with, but is now thinking of going for a Masters. She doesn't want a PhD because of all the publishing they have to do. I can't blame her. She wrote a stellar senior thesis but she did it on her last functuioning nerve. lol

  5. Hi Suzi! Thank you so much! This is the most exciting, happy thing that's happened in our lives for some time. I just had to let it all out there to the Cosmos. She won a Matilda Morrison Miller prize in History as well as a Charlene Conrad Liebau Library Prize for Undergraduate Research. I'm so grateful she decided to go for it, made it, and did all that she wanted to.
