saturday9: What hurts the most?

Wanna play?  HERE's a linkie to Saturday9.  Enjoy!  As for me, I plead insanity.

Saturday 9: What Hurts the Most (2006)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,  I'm numb.  Pleased to meet you.

Hello from the blog owner.  Google just got a lot less fun.  Safer, maybe, but less fun.

I didn't put pictures in because Google has switched to Https and we all know that means it's buggy, and it takes offense where none was offered.  Sorry about that!  But, as they say, the one with all the Gold - Google - rules.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) What hurts Sam the most is her sole, since she just found that earring she thought was lost by stepping on it with her bare foot. How about you? Any aches and pains to report?
I'm good, except for the obvious that ain't going away anytime soon.  Sorry about that erring thinga.  Ouch!

2) What's the last thing you misplaced? Did you find it?
A couple of old watches that were somewhat favorites.  Mr. Z actually found them.  They'd been missing for nigh onto 5 years.  They had stopped ticking, though.

3) Lead singer Gary LeVox sings that he's not afraid to cry. When is the last time you shed a tear?
We watched "Admiral" tonight, and I cried when DeRuyter died.  William of Orange was a traitor.  And, well, I cried through the whole thamn ding. The British, French and Spanish really sucked.  But that's just me.
About crying.  If you're human, there's going to come a time when you do.

4) Gary auditioned for another country group, Little Big Town, but didn't get in. Considering how successful Rascal Flatts has been, he's probably not sorry. Tell us about something you thought you wanted, but later weren't so sure.
Answers, I wanted answers.  Then I wasn't sure I even had the right questions, so I wasn't sure anymore.

5) The country group has their roots in Columbus, Ohio. What else is Ohio known for?
Being part of what was once called The Western Reserve.  But that was a long, long time ago.

6) Lead guitarist Joe Don Rooney married model and former Miss Georgia, Tiffany Fallon. Many major pageants give prizes in the talent, congeniality and swimsuit competitions. Would you prefer to have exceptional skills, a great personality, or a terrific body?
If you mean by "terrific body", that it's one that had anti-bodies that destroyed cancer cells, and whose blood could be used for a vaccine, I'll chose terrific body.

7) 2006, the year this song was popular, was a very good one for tennis pro Roger Federer. He reached the finals in all four Grand Slam tournaments, and won three. What's the last game you won? (Yes, Words with Friends counts.)
Tennis?  In High School.  No, I didn't miss this one, I don't tell my games.

8) Actor Tony Shalhoub won an Emmy in 2006 for his portrayal of detective Adrian Monk on Monk. Who's your favorite TV detective?
I don't even have a favorite series detective from the Netflix things.  My favorite detective is in print and is Italian.

9) Random question ... You've just won an all-expenses-paid trip but now you have to choose: Carnivale in Brazil, the Bordeaux Wine Festival in France, or the Running of the Bulls in Spain?
I'll take the wine festival, please.

We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Wine festival sounds like fun, but I don't drink wine any more.

  2. Hi, Bev, I haven't had wine in a couple of years, but I'd sure love to see France.

  4. I have such a hard time throwing watches away, even after it takes more than a new battery to get them going again. So I feel your husband's frustration.

    1. Hi Gal. Well, DH just thinks it's comical. He had heard me say, for far too long, that I think that sort of "Gangsta" guy with the mean look took them when the windows were done, but alas, I actually had hid them. Duh! I'm apologizing right and left in my head, and to God, to that poor misunderstood workman.

  5. That favorite detective wouldn't be called Brunetti, by any chance?

    1. Hi Karen, and Brunetti is the one. I'm hoping for a new book sometime soon, but alas. Donna Leon may have decided that enough was enough. Basta!

  6. Something that I never knew before, if you pull out the stem on a watch it turns it off. So the next time you want to wear that fancy watch that you wear only for special occasions you will not have to buy a battery for it.

  7. I have watches in a drawer somewhere, too. I am never without a watch. It is certainly easier to deal with than looking at a phone to see what the time is.

    1. Yes, CountryDew, it is. Once I broke my wrist it was icky to have a watch on my wrist, so I hid them away. Duh. The least I should do is have some sort of code on the phone for my stashes. Right?

  8. I have a bag filled with all kinds of watches that need new batteries. Either the batteries last only a month or they battery change people say that they can't do it there. Oddly enough, my wind-up NYC street seller watch always works great.

    1. Hey there Harriet. I hear ya. My dainty, cheap, little wind up watch is still going strong after 52 years. They are amazing things really. They like to be cleaned and kept absolutely dry but they sure have lasting power.

  9. You reminded me of a TV show that moved me to tears, I had forgotten that I got so caught up in the story. I should go back and change my answer...
