Here is the upper road into the canyon as it meanders and gets narrower and narrower, you will see why there are restrictions on the sort of vehicles that are allowed down into the access to the Coastal Road. This is one of the most lovely areas the seaward side of the Giant Redwoods Reserves.

  1. Nice! Very!
I would love to meander about that road. The picture almost makes you smell the forest and hear the birds chirping....

  2. Trish, I wish that I lived near it, but it's up in Northern California. If you ever get a chance to go trekking above San Francisco, be sure to see as much of the coast as you can. It has no equal for beauty and inspiration. Lots of artists live up there for that very reason.

Hi Karen, it was so quiet along that road that it would have been sweet indeed to ride a horse into the coastal road junction. That is IF there were no cars at all. Dust!

  4. Del, you would love this place; it's so peaceful. Be sure to come in September when the weather is the best for Northern Cal. It's not as foggy and it's still warm and sunny during most days. I know someday you will see it, just as I will someday see Tenn. We have a gorgeous country, don't we?
