Meet Pepe, my little wild man. He was flying around the bay one day, lost, so I caught him and brought him home. He was very young as his cerus was still cloudy blue. He's a good buddy.
Karen, Pepe is a very sweet little bird. Very calm and quite tame, though I am allergic to birds and he doesn't get out as much because of it. He sings all day, especially in summer when we can hang his cage outside where he can hear the neighbor's little birds easier.
Annie, Jazz thinks Pepe is a toy, and wanted to grab him when we first got him. I'm not sure a dog or cat could ever be trained to be completely trustworthy around a bird unless raised with it, but I've seen some that do get along very well. I think Jazz would still try to chomp Pepe. Pepe's wings aren't trimmed for that reason. He can easily fly away. I think that's how the original owner lost him. Forgot he was on their shoulder and walked outside. They never advertized for him either. I felt sorry that they didn't. He could have been "visiting" as there are hotels and boats along that whole stretch of land, in the bayside and the channel side.
