Mystery Plant
DH says this is a weed, but the beautiful lavendar morning glory type flower says to me, "Take my picture, too, please?" And so I did. We looked it up, and it could be a chinensis.
i love the tinee wild violas. wilk flowers are so pretty too. thank you for all your pretty pictures. it is like having a virtual nature in blogland. :)
I love the little wild violas, and actually had a johnny jumpup, my mom called them that, this year. It was just outside the back slider but I think a tortoise ate it. =o\ Those guys get everything.
I'm going to protect the wild flowers that are left right now.
flowers we may consider weeds are considered great flowers in other places -- so I decided long ago that I will decide what I think is a weed or not - if it is pretty it isn't a weed to me :D
Absolutely, rho. The only bad wild things to invade us are the sticker grass (brought in on cattle from Spain) and that terrible burr clover which are both bad for our doggie's insides. I love the tiny flowers of the scarlet pimpernel, wild geranium, giant mallow, wild roses, and the wild fuchsia.
The happy outcome here is that I just might get more wildflowers in the garden this year. This is exciting for DH, too. He loves wildflowers, especially monkey flower, so he's completely gung-ho to assure it's safety. heehee He's out there covering them with wire.
