Super Duper Love
Saturday 9: Super Duper Love (recommended by Bankerchick)
If you're not familiar with today's song, you can hear it here.
1) The lyrics say, "I'm as proud as a girl can be." Tell us about something you're proud of. I'm really proud of my kids.
2) This song is from her first CD, The Soul Sessions. She's told interviewers that the first CD she ever owned was by Aretha Franklin: Greatest Hits. So while we're talking firsts, do you remember your first CD (or tape or record)? The first record I ever bought was a 45 of Bill Haley and The Comet's, "Rock Around the Clock"
3) Last year, two men were convicted of plotting to kill Joss Stone. Even though she had (fortunately!) never even met the men, she still had to testify during their trial. Have you ever had to speak to a judge? Had to, no. I have spoken to people who were justices that I met through birding clubs.
4) Joss is frequently in the British press because of her friendship with Princes William and Harry. Who among your friends leads the most exciting life? I'd have to say it's a biker friend of mine.
5) Because of dyslexia, Joss had trouble in school and dropped out when she was 16. What's the last grade you completed? I graduated.
6) She provided the voice of the villainness for the James Bond video game, Blood Stone. Do you have a Playstation or Xbox? No, neither are my style.
7) Sam is especially crazy this morning because she can't find her phone. What's the last thing you misplaced? Beads for two sets of earrings for my daughters, and jewelry making tools. I cannot find them anywhere!
8) After composing this Saturday 9, Sam is off to Lowe's to pick up some heavy duty indoor/outdoor trash bags. Will you be in any stores this weekend? No, that was last week, when I braved the massive sale at Kole's, when it was raining. Because of the rain, the place was wall to wall shoppers! Nothing else to do, I guess.
9) Do you consider yourself more book smart, or street smart? Sadly, I am both, and nothing I've read in a book has disabused me of the wisdom of having street smarts.

If you should ever doubt that both "smarts" are important, just harken to what facebook has done in re-instating videos of human beheadings.
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend.
I think that perhaps there's something about Kohl's that brings out crowds and the the worst in shoppers. My local store is always a mess, with piles of clothes left in the fitting room ... when you can get a fitting room. Even though I like the bargains, I avoid the retail experience
ReplyDeleteI usually say...i'll find them if I put them here and then they are lost forever.
