SAVE FOR ANOTHER TIME

Good news for the people who need some.

From The News Wire  It's a hopeful article...

Now some RANTING for the people who need to HEAR IT!

Approximately 80,000 African babies die every year from AIDS.  If that were happening in America, we would be mobilized!  Why did companies not allow cash poor African countries to have or to create generic drugs to head off the epidemic in Africa.

WHY!??!??!  Money... lots and lots of it.

Reading all the Racist, ugly things that have lately been being tossed around in Pintarest and Instagram concerning This African epidemic, plus the blaming of Africans for HAVING too many children,  I'm speaking out.  This ignorant, racist spewing just breaks the heart.

These are people who never willingly left their continent, but who learned to make a living there without destroying it.  They've  been exploited by Arabs and Whites for centuries.
They are also the ancient ancestors of ALL the other skin colors.  They share ALL the same DNA with everyone else.  We got ours from THEM!

To the detractors, I say, "Just have a heart."  If Karma is real, you will be sorry.  Right now, I'm hoping it isn't, so you can just go to HELL where you belong, and can take your fat,, cozy, over fed smugness with you.

Guess who has priced themselves out of the medical Market:

While the Republican madmen in Washington keep trying to make a profit off the sick in America, basically sealing us in, some companies and patients in the middle class are escaping the War on Healthcare - many are going to Mexico.

Just so the rest of us know about this as well...

From the New York Times:

Mexican Hospital:  Cancun

The Irony does not escape me.....

and, as to building a "friendly culture" in a "foreign land"  Americans have been going to Europe for a couple for centuries for treatment and surgeries.  Oh, I also smell an Hypocrisy.

Friends, sorry to be away so long but things got a little wild around here.  I can't manage the memes..

Meanwhile, carry on..

The New Normal

Google has chosen, as many of you  already know, to not support Google+ anything on Blogger Blogs.  I have no idea why not, unless they intend to sell off Blogspot.com AGAIN, and just try to force everyone over to their Blog site.  The did this already with Picasa3, and so I'm trying to take that bit of past behavior and translate it to the newest move.

So, none of you who formerly came to this domain through Google+ can do so.  Also, you probably won't be seeing your blogspot blogs unless you go through the Old School subscription of Friend's connect, if they even support that anymore, or through Blogspot, or other feed engines like Feedly and Feedburner.

My note to you is that I'm getting PT for the shoulder, the thumb is back about 45%, and the eye gets the last of the plastic out of it on the Ides of March.  If I were Caesar, I would be worried.  I'm picking up my knitting tomorrow rather than just fondling the needles and caressing the yarns.

I will do the weekly memes, the no promises.  I'll try to read all of yours and post one myself.  Firstly, I will read yours with a certainty of purpose!  I've missed you..

Saying tata for a bit....with this post...Also...does your Water taste funny?

It could be the salt in it.....or the Esters..

We drink this compound every day, bathe in it and wash food and our clothing in it.  It's one of the most abundant compounds on earth.  Yet it is getting ruined and unfit, even when it comes out of the faucet you or your child gets drinks from.  LINK  goes to the article from The Revelator.org

and there's This bit...Fourth National Global Climate Assessment

I will be AWOL...It could be a few months here....
Sorry to my meme friends and other readers, but I'm trying to retrain my hands to use the good thumb, and I find typing on a computer excruciating- mentally and physically.

One hand just doesn't cut it.  Tenor.com

So, meanwhile, entertain yourself with the circuses and maybe even some bread (hopefully it's good bread) coming out of Washington. and.....stay sane!  Despite the Gong Show in the Capital, I hope you can be cheerful and I wish you every happiness.

But I'm really missing the memes and my knitting.

See what he's doing wrong?  Tenor.com
It just started raining cats and dogs.  And it's sleeting!  That's incredible....I have to go see if I can get more doggies out of this....Yippie!  I want some small dogs especially poodles, for a traveling show!  Lots of fun...Life has to be fun some of the time, ya think?

there is a little revolution....

Thanks to Mr. Z for the heads up on it... Late though I may be in getting it posted.....

New Scientist Site..
This doesn't look so bad until you see the time-lapse satellite images Horrors!

Maybe that's what you should look at first in the video.  It's dreadful.  No wonder the whole interrelated system is crashing.
This Absolutely Reminds me of what happened in King's Canyon in the 60's.  Only it's a thousand times bigger.  Or what happened in all the plains states.  Or British Columbia rain forests, or.. or.. or...
Rest in Peace, Mother Nature... bye bye ...

Sunday Pseudo Sermon

Yes, a lot of brown arms here, and that's because we don't get to
See or hear much about rural poverty, and kids going hungry in
the Heartland... But they are in this count..
Trump is "trumpeting" that he has a "0" tolerance for the People fleeing hunger and poverty from Central American countries.

I believe he would be better served if he had a ZERO tolerance for poverty and hunger in the United States..

Read THIS from Mashable, and see what I mean.  This shows a lot of little brown arms, but there are lily white kids, like my classmates and others were, that go hungry to bed most nights.  I estimate the number, myself, to be more like 20 million.  Shocked?  I thought you would be..

There was a documentary about this problem and how it extends beyond the "brown" and "black" kiddies into the very heart of our country.

Give us a few of these billions of dollars you plan to waste keeping people OUT, Mr. Trump, and do it for our hungry kids, so that they can EAT!  So that they can stay awake and concentrate in school because they have had enough to eat the day before a big test.

Let's take 16 billion dollars and solve the hunger problems with it, a problem that our churches do not have the resources to solve though they try mightily to do so...

Maybe it's all payback?

I know it's Friday but this just floated back up out of the news because...He who must be Obeyed does not know his history...

The first quote below is from this page:   http://nativeamericannetroots.net/diary/1906

This whole  page is devoted to records of keeping ....

It is, and I quote,

"…a forum for the discussion of political, social and economic issues affecting the indigenous peoples of the United States, including their lack of political representation, economic deprivation, health care issues, and the on-going struggle for preservation of identity and cultural history."

I quote a bit here.. from an evaluation of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, because the flood of Indians, notably the Apache, Pima, Gila, (who grew the best cotton in the world)  and the Kickapoo was inevitable... and this was because of the treatment they were receiving at the hands of the American Army and government.  The Gila lost their water rights to grow their cotton, and they eventually were plowed under, so to speak, by people who even stole their unique cotton seeds.

With the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, the United States acquired what would become New Mexico and Arizona. Included in this territory were the Pueblo Indians who were agricultural peoples who lived in permanent villages. The Pueblos did not fit the established American stereotypes about Indians. In Santa Ana: The People, the Pueblo, and the History of Tamaya Laura Bayer writes:  “They had preserved their own ancient governments, traditions, and religions after three hundred years of contact with European civilization, and they clearly indicated their intention to continue to do so.”
The Pueblos were clearly sovereign entities who had developed the land. American Indian policies did not seem to fit the Pueblo situations. Under Mexican law, Pueblo Indians had been citizens, but under American law their lost their citizenship rights. Some people argued that the Pueblos should be given citizenship, while others felt that they should be considered to be corporate entities under territorial law. It was not clear legally if they should be considered to be “Indians” or not.
In 1850, James S. Calhoun, the first Indian agent in New Mexico, negotiated a treaty between the United States and the Pueblos of Santa Clara, Tesuque, Nambe, Santo Domingo, Jemez, San Felipe, Cochiti, San Ildefonso, Santa Ana, and Zia. The treaty states that the boundaries of each Pueblo  “shall never be diminished, but may be enlarged whenever the Government of the United States shall deem it advisable.”  In addition, the treaty states that the Pueblos shall be governed by their own laws and customs. On the surface, the treaty seem to be in accord with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, but the treaty was never ratified by the United States Senate.
Truth Out!

Bits of knitting blah blah. And, wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day ...

Knitting short fingered gloves, and I found this marvelous video about joining yarn and solving problematic holes, too.  This technique is the closest to the one I learned many years ago when first making mittens for my older daughters.  It can be used to close the top and bottom gaps in the fingers, too.  Now, to get some 5 inch #5 double points!

What I'm knitting now.. It's a washable wool/acrylic blend and I'm making short fingered gloves for patients in the cancer ward at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz.  I have a ton of yarn, and that's what I'll be doing.  Knitting it up....

Happy Valentine's Day y'all..

KD Lang... Crying...Music Monday on a Tuesday

I'm done with crying over anything.

“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”

Rainer Maria Rilke
