9) Random question: Would you rather own and run a coffee shop or a shoe store? Why? I'd rather run and own a coffee shop, because I could bake and sell little cakes and things, too. I would also have little tables, inside, and ones with pretty umbrellas, outside. Why? Much More fun.

I kept accumulating craft stuff and then got handouts of cloth, old jeans, yarns, etc from various crafting buddies who were closing up shop. 1. What Did You Have For Lunch? I didn't usually eat lunch. Not being young anymore, I don't need it. But have a piece of fruit or something small in the middle of the afternoon. 2. Do You Dance In The Car? Not anymore. But I could really rock that van at one time in my life. 3. Favourite Animal? I like so many. But I guess I would really miss wild birds and domestic dogs and tame and wild horses. 4. Do You Watch The Olympics? I used to. I'm not interested in them anymore. It makes the crosswords harder. But that's easy to live with. 5. What Time Do You Usually Go To Bed? At 10 pm. But I read, knit, or spin through social media until around 12:30 am. 6. Are You Wearing Makeup Right Now? No. And, I never wore more than eye makeup or lipstick when I was younger, and I'm not going to wear any of that other stuff, either, now that it would have to be a half inch thick to make any difference. 7. Do You Prefer To Swim In A Pool Or The Ocean? I always preferred the Ocean. There's nothing like the Pacific to swim in. It's magnificent. 8. What Was The Last Thing You Ate? I ate a builder's bar with an Orange this morning. 9. Bottled Water Or Tap Water? We drink filtered tap water. We have a Brita app for that.. just kidding! ;o) I did find this one though, and it really works!
10. What Makes You Happy? Hanging with my Hubby, chasing big bad monsters around the ancient British Countryside. Being in Santa Cruz with my kids; just being there is like the biggest High. 11. Did You Like Swinging As A Child? Do You Still Get Excited When You See A Swing Set? No, I don't get exited about swing sets but I really did like to swing on one when I was younger. 12. But before, when I wasn't worried about driving my dog or someone else deaf, I used to love to have music on ALL the time, and fairly high volume at that. 13. Do You Make Your Bed In The Morning? Not at all. I actually like it. I come from a long line of storm watchers. My mother and her sisters loved stormy weather. But the storms that are coming, because of the Land and Ocean temps and currents that are generating them, are going to be much more massive. Maybe it's time to be afraid.

1) This song celebrates serenity. Are you feeling peaceful this morning? Not really. My mind is leaping ahead to all that is going to go down this weekend, and next week. Also, to the the work that still has to be done to clean up my messes and start making things I want to make, like sophisticated electron things. Just kidding! In truth, I'm lucky to be able to de-fuzz my sewing machine's bobbin race. But I would like to build that darn Star Trek Transporter one of these days. Think of the tea parties and chin wags we all could have!
2) The lyrics include allusions to sun and clouds. How does the world look where you are? Is it sunny or cloudy? It's sunny here, and on the cool side. The perfect early Spring day in SoCal.
3) This week's featured artist, BJ Thomas, is in the Grammy Hall of Fame for another hit record that uses weather as a metaphor, "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head." Make up a Hall of Fame that you believe you should be inducted into. (For example, Crazy Sam has inducted herself into The Meme Mistress Hall of Fame for her service to Saturday 9.) Infamy is more my style. Is there a Hall of Infamy anywhere?
4) When Crazy Sam hears this song, she always sings along ... loud. Is there a song you simply cannot resist singing along with? I sing along with IZ. People who don't know about him dismiss him, but I'd say he had one for the most beautiful voices that ever was.
5) BJ Thomas has performed this song at The Grand Ole Opry. The Opry has been broadcast on the radio every week since 1925, nearly 95 years ago! Of course, back in the 1920s, radio was the only broadcast media. Today we have other choices. Is listening to the radio part of your daily routine? No. The Radio is full of irritating commercials and even more irritating NEWS casts! I used to listen a lot to the radio when the kids were little but now there are much better ways to listen to my favorite music.
6) Though their dress code is lenient, country music fans who attend the Opry for a live show are warned: "Just remember, there's one rule we take very seriously here at the Grand Ole Opry -- you must wear something." Easter Sunday is a day many of us dress up. What will you be wearing today? I'm wearing my favorite little summer dress. On Easter Sunday I might wear one of my other favorite little dresses. How do you show people you care? I love them. In all the ways that it can be shown in a Society that doesn't really like to be touched; I just love them. I no longer cry so easily because in the climate that I entered into as an adult, tears were a sign of weakness. So I don't cry about things even if they make me sad. It's ridiculous, but there you are.
Wolfie's been sick, not eating well, so today we finally went to the vets. She found he has a few probs. We're working on it but test results on two growthy thingies have not come back, since he just went this morning. I may be floating in the ether for a day or three...

A word that I over use is: "Goddamn!" But that's only been recently, if you know what I mean. I'd say this has been since approximately Nov. 16th of 2016. It was an insult to add on top of a grievous loss.

Things? Are we talking about survival gear? Or is it 10 things you should always have ON you, like "in your Pockets or purse? You know, the sort that of things that you need to have when you set out for the market place. I'm going with Survival...since it's getting to look a lot like Doomsday... Listed pretty much in the order in which you need them to live... 1. Water, preferable clean water, no oily sheen! 2. Clean Food, no dirt from, say, being foraged from a trashcan but it's ok if it's from a field. 3. Clean (and maybe) Warm Clothes (a change of underwear, etc. 4. Someplace safe to sleep, and have a waterproof roof over your head. 5. People to Love who also love you. 6. Soap 7. Emergency lighter 8. Crank and Solar powered Radio with Short Wave capabilities. 9. A current ID of some sort so that the Armies of the Damned don't cart you off to jail for vagrancy. Or worse... 10. A dog who will stay by your side no matter what. Dogs are like that.. I love dogs.

Humans think that they are the only ones who possess Kindness, but they aren't.
Kindness, permeates all of Creation; it is Empathetic, Intuitive, as well as the foundation of all "humane" behaviors.
I'll say again....Humane Behaviors.
Kindness is much more than gentle submission. It has a Nobility to it. Science tell us that aggression for access to procreation and hunting grounds drove the engines of Evolution. Watching how a female bird chooses a mate puts the lie to that. She makes the choice, not the male. Mammals are an aberration, a serious one.
We can learn Kindness, and enrich it within ourselves, by practicing it. Some people learn, with a shock, that they have the roots of it buried in their DNA, and they can change almost instantly when moved to it.
I've seen this transformation in children, and in adults. It's like every atom in their body relaxes and they become at Peace. So, does Kindness have a component of Peace in it? Yes, I think Kindness is Inner Peace. Kindness is what shows on the outside. It's an expression of Inner Peace.
It didn't take long for the aggressive among Humans to learn that they can use other people's kindness against them. So, Kindness also has a component of apparent subservience in their eyes. And, so it became something that they aggressively took advantage of. And thus, the Rewards in Heaven theories....
However, Kindness on Earth is Heaven on Earth.

It's always nice when Spring arrives, and the birds bring their new fledglings to the seeds we put out as well as the weeds we've left in for them. We are luckyin that we live in a place that gets three species of Goldfinch. These tiny darlings dangle on the tall dandelion plants and entertain us as they eat the seeds of these plants. 2. Oh, that "Old Devil Moon......In the Sky".
3. It's a sure sign of Spring when the White Crowned Sparrows arrive. And, when they are going the other way, South, it's a sure sign of Fall! 4. Are we having yet another snowstorm in the East again??!. 5. My heart is still overbalancing, swerving way out to the apogee and into the perigee of emotion and back again in an instant through the center of my soul. Hmm, could that be a tune? 6. Do you believe in Santa Clause? Me? The answer is No. But, I believe in St. Nicholas! 7. I'm a little tired at the moment. Another four hours of sleep would have been nice. 8. I was sitting in my comfy chair, and started to doze off the other day, and,*click*, I had a tiny vision like dream: It was of Mother and another woman quite a bit taller than my mother (who was only 5'2"). This interesting lady had the look of my girl. She was smiling as she approached me, and was dressed in 1930's style hair, hat, dress, purse, and shoes. She came up close to me and smiled with a hand extended. Mother was bringing her to "meet" me. It's amazing that a single. tiny moment can convey so much information. The mid thirties lady took my hand, and then I was wide awake. I thought at first that it could have been my great Grandmother... She was reportedly tall, and quite elegant. 9. I used to love it here when the moon is full. The tiny foxes that used to come down from the wild lands to hunt for rabbits, would bark at one another, and it was magical to be awake at 3 am and sitting in the moonlight outside and hear them. Sadly, there's nothing but freeway noise now. 10. When we young, we would go fishing, and I especially love to surf cast off the beach down near the border. 11. Bird watching is the best! 12. Underneath it all, the Eternal Earth will go on without us. It always has, even when the Moon been ripped off and the all that WATER arrived. 13. Oh! And thanks for all the fish! Oops, I forgot to say Goodbye! Just a play on an old, old joke from the Dolphins.
14. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to more Netflix, we are watching the last few episodes of "Dark Matter". There's some great acting in that series, tomorrow my plans include waking up and drinking tea in bed and knitting more. My hand has recovered most of it's flex, and Sunday, I want to Knit, drink more tea, eat some Lacies cookies, and watch old shows!
I'm going to learn how to make these.. They are just like another cookie that's made at home..
Say, this is a lot like the old "Friday fill-in". I used to do that Meme until it went south.. I'm glad it's still around in some form. My your Sunday be restful and pleasant. No nasty surprises. 🤞
The easiest way is with a coin toss. Consulting the Gods is not advised. They never agree on anything. Just ask Arjuna, and a few other victims of both scripture and myth.
There is also the "Three week study of pro's and con's" method, where you will probably get so bogged down in pluses and minuses that you end up doing a coin toss.
At this stage you probably should try calling and asking a friend what they would do about XYZ... They will give you a short course in, "Obfuscation and Hem-Haws", all the while trying mightily to not step on your feelings or your toes. This will inevitably end in.... a coin toss.
The next thing to try is to haul two rocking chairs out of the house, position them to overlook the best part of your open space, and invite a Good friend over for cake and lemonade. Now, you can just have a general chin wag and gently let drop that you've run into a roadblock and need a dispassionate opinion on the subject of XYZ.
OR.....Save yourself a lot of time and go with your gut. Just you go ahead and do whatever comes into your little bony head immediately, and then if you should run into a crossroads due
to dumbness or wild hairs, have coin toss.
OR... you can just walk back to square
one and go the other direction. If that ends in yet another fiasco, you can
return to point A, and toss a coin. Personally but this time I'd quit and take a nap.

1) In this song, Pat Boone sings that April love is a wonder reserved for the very young. Do you think the sensation of falling in love changes as we grow older? I really can't say. I'm sure it's the same because of other people's experiences. Wait, I fell in love with Wolfie from his little pound picture, so yes, it's the same. 2) "April Love" reached #1 on the charts. Between this song and "Love Letters in the Sand," Pat Boone had a career year. Only one artist sold more records in 1957: Elvis Presley. When you think of Elvis, what's the first song that comes to mind? "All Shook Up" That was what worked it's way to the top of my head... Good theme song for Days of My Life right now, too. Yep! 3) Pat was extremely busy in high school. He wrote for the school paper, ran track, and acted in school plays. Share a memory of your extracurricular activities during high school. I was in Choir, and also GAA. We went to other schools in Inter-mural sports competitions involving Badminton, tennis, volleyball, and archery. I still love archery, and I'm sad that I can't pull a bow anymore. 4) It was his track coach who introduced Pat to the new girl in school, Shirley Foley. Three years later Pat and Shirley married, and remained man and wife for 65 years, until her death earlier this year. Who is the longest married couple you know? One of the rock hound couples, if they are both still alive, have been married well over 60 years. We've lost touch with them. 5) Pat has lived in the same house for more than 60 years. He once received an offer to sell it for $18,000,000 but turned it down because it's the Boone family home and he simply doesn't want to leave. Do you plan on moving in the foreseeable future? No. Also, I wouldn't move either if I lived in an 18 million dollar home in Beverly Hills. Think of the packing up?!? Horrid. 6) Pat has a warm friendship with his neighbors, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Pat has mentioned in interviews that he has enjoyed bike rides around Beverly Hills with Sharon. Tell us about one of your neighbors. She is great. I've known and liked her since we moved here many long moons ago. A really nice person. Her hubby was like a big brother to DH and I - Totally cool and fun loving. 7) Mr. Boone was very critical of Barack Obama, enthusiastically supports Donald Trump, and has appeared on Fox News to express his views. How do you feel about celebrities talking politics? They are all Americans and should be able to say what they like as long as it isn't Hate speech or Slander. Boone? I think he doesn't know what he's talking about. That's MY opinion and I AM an American. So, I can also say what I like. Boone is probably comfortable saying what he likes on "Faux News" because he knows it won't be challenged. I don't think much of Boone's intellect. 8) In 1957, the year this song was popular, Dr. Ian Donald pioneered the use of ultrasound technology. Today ultrasounds are commonly used by doctors in diagnosing conditions affecting the eyes, blood vessels, kidneys, gall bladder and more. Have you ever had an ultrasound? I'm bird watching at Elkhorn Slough with the Mr. Z (and maybe the kids). Later, we go to buy some succulents at the nearby nursery. Then, it's a visit to Santa Cruz Harbor for in early dinner, after which we go to watch the sunset at Natural Bridges.

Fame is important to people who need it to make a living. They need the notice of buyers and promoters for their Art or writings, and many other things that enrich the world.
So, Fame has it's place in Human Endeavor.
Also, Fame should never be confused with Infamy. That's a whole "other Horse..." and one that nobody should seek to "ride" into Notice. Unfortunately, Infamy seems to be the preferred "seat" for far too many unworthy yet powerful monsters.

A Place you have never visited.
I'd liked to have seen the birds in Australia and in Malaysia but it's not that important anymore.
I'm not well traveled, though I thought that was my destiny. Field Geologists go ALL over the HALF ACRE. I don't really miss it. If I see the rest of the West, it will be enough for me.
1. I was supposed to be born in Hollywood California but, as with many families, Hitler dictated that many of us would be born not where we were supposed to be born, but where our Mother's families' were.
2. For almost three years, I was in the loving embrace of my mother's big family of parents, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins in Ohio.
3. "House Democrats may not be able to force President Trump to release his tax returns. But the Democrats can keep reminding Americans that Trump really does not want the public to know what’s in those returns.
As you probably know by now, all other recent presidents (and presidential nominees) voluntarily released their tax information. Trump has not. Now House Democrats are trying to get access to that information and potentially release portions of it to the public.
Last week, Richard Neal, Democrat of Massachusetts and chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, demanded to see six years of Trump’s tax returns, citing a 1924 provision in the tax code that gives Congress the power to obtain any citizen’s returns. Neal has given the Internal Revenue Service until Wednesday to hand over the returns to Congress.
Trump has repeatedly said that he would be happy to release his returns publicly, but that’s clearly been a lie. One of his excuses has been the false claim that he can’t release them because he is being audited by the I.R.S. And over the weekend, his administration stopped pretending Trump was telling the truth. Democrats will “never” see them, said Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, on Fox News yesterday. “Nor should they.” Trump’s lawyers have said they will fight the request.
Why is Trump so afraid of letting people see his tax returns?
The most innocent possibility is that he isn’t nearly as wealthy as he has long boasted, and he’s embarrassed by the truth. A less innocent possibility is that he has financial ties that could create political problems for him if those ties became public — for example, ties to Russia or other countries to which his foreign policy has been suspiciously friendly.
The release of the returns would let “Americans decide whether the president is making decisions that benefit his businesses at the expense of American taxpayers,” Aaron Scherb of Common Cause, the government watchdog group, has written in USA Today.
'If Trump has significant debt to banks and/or individuals in certain countries, some of which might be adversaries of the United States, we must know because his foreign policy decisions might be compromised.'
Seeing the president’s tax returns isn’t a matter of prurient gossip or mere partisan politics. It’s a matter of national interest.
So long as Trump is fighting the release, Democrats should keep talking about it."
Yes, we ALL should keep talking about it. Why doesn't Trump just do the right thing? If this isn't all just a smoke screen to slip other bad things through the Administration's doors, it might be that he knows he will not be able to keep his base if they know what sort of person he really is.....
Next thing up is ...Are we a Democracy or a Republic. The problem is that of Power. Who holds it and you gets to make decisions and what the method of wielding that power is to be.

Somewhere along the coast, near Santa Cruz County, below Pescadero, maybe. Like Bev, I want it off the bluffs but close to the water. The kids could live in it. And we could visit. 2. What are your favorite articles of clothing? Wet Cool season? I like to wear soft, stretchy pants and various tops, not necessarily Tees. Dry Hot season? I like to wear light weight cotton (Indian cloth) middie, or maxi length, flowing dresses, or tee's with long skirts.
3. The last CD you bought or downloaded? I'd have to go to iTunes to see, and that could take some time. Ok.. back... I haven't down loaded anything since I got Luke Brindley's song...this Winter.. 4. What time do you generally wake up in the morning? I generally wake up sometime between 4am and 7am. My sleep is what it is. I've stopped obsessing about it. And I take lovely naps, sometimes unplanned!
6. If you could play an instrument, what would it be? My little Uke. I play guitar but not that well anymore. Once your thumb goes kamikaze and the finger tips soften you are toast. I can also play all the chords on the piano, but that instrument's gone to a new home. But the uke is tiny and adorable and doesn't hurt my hands. Little Flea, I love Theeeeee.....
7. What is your Favorite color? Yellow to look at, any Blue to wear. I love to wear Navy Blue. 8. Do you believe in the afterlife? Yes, but i don't believe in Hell. This place is Hell and some of us are really intent on keeping it that way. 9. Your Favorite children’s book? Any of the Maurice Sendak books. I'll pick, Where the Wild Things Are for certain. Hey, look what I just found! I didn't know it had been made into a Movie. Now I want to see it. 10. Can you juggle? I'm a mother of four, and of course I can juggle. 11. What’s your favorite day of the week? Friday because it's Pizza and Movie night! 12. Which do you prefer, sushi or hamburger? I like vegetarian Sushi, and I don't like hamburgers, so it's, "Sushi, with a proviso". 13. What is your favorite flower? Any Gladiolus, and it's cousins, the bearded Iris; they are in a full on race for my heart. 14. What is your favorite meal? I love to have a veggie salad, or pasta salad, with homemade bread. And homemade Pie for dessert. 15. Describe your ideal weather? Rain in the early morning, and sunny with a slight breeze for the rest of the day - Camelot, basically. 16. She acknowledges this makes her an unusual spokeswoman for the glory and pain of love. When you have a relationship problem, who do you go to for advice? To be honest, I now just meditate on it.

Yes, I'd get more done. I want to make an apple pie but I've had the apples from before my thumb went all Ninja/kamikaze on me, so those apples are still good but the nutritional levels must be in the basement. But, it is, after all, a pie. Who actually cares whether it has any nutritional value?
4) In 1966, Cher and her then-husband Sonny sang at a private birthday party for Jacqueline Kennedy. At first, Cher didn't want to do it, thinking that performing to a small gathering would be awkward. But it turned out to be a wonderful opportunity for her. That night, she met Diana Vreeland, the editor of Vogue. Vreeland liked Cher's look so much she set up a photo shoot. Cher, who always loved experimenting with hair and makeup, enjoyed the shoot immensely. Tell us about a social gathering where you had an unexpectedly good time.
At my age, let's be honest, most of them are that way.
5) At that same party, Cher said she was surprised by how big Jackie's hands were. Do you like your hands? I once did! Now I think of them as Forces of Nature that can take my life away on a whim. But really, I do love my hands. They have made it possible to have a painterly and artistic life, and they carry out my every wish for carpentry, gardening, sports, crafting and sewing and knitting, cooking, baking, and embroideries and all the other joys of life.
6) One night, before a performance in Detroit, Cher saw a little furry something under one of her tour buses. It was a kitten that that she named Mr. Big, hoping he would grow into the name. He did, and the tomcat was her constant companion for four years until he died of a congenital heart ailment. She has said that she will "never not miss him." Is there a furry companion who has a special place in your memories?
I miss my kitties, mostly Pepper and Milo, and the little rat named Rita who was really a darling. I also miss my little red poodle, Jazzie. He was adorable, small and very sick from the day we got him, but what a good boy! Despite his troubles, he lived a very joyful life and for almost 13 years.
