Halloween Questions.

1. The smell of pumpkin guts or rotting leaves?
I have to say, rotting leaves.  That's the smell of compost.

2. Sweet or salty pumpkin seeds?
Salty! Yummmmm!

3. Store bought or pumpkin patch pumpkins?
Back in the day, it was fun to take the kids and go buy from a farmer.  Now, I think I prefer artificial pumpkins. lol

4. Wool or knit sweaters?
Ummm... I'm not sure what this means.  I've never, to my knowledge, worn unknitted wool.  And all sweaters are knit.  🤔 

5. Halloween party or exploring haunted places?
I like staying home and handing out candy to the tykes.

6. Candy corn or mellowcreme pumpkins?
This is showing me my age. lol.  What ARE mellowcreme pumpkins. PS.  I just looked them up and it's definately a no go....

7. Apple cider donuts or pumpkin donuts?
I've never had either but I'm sure I'd like Apple Cider donuts best.

8. Apple pie or pumpkin pie?
Both please, and ala Mode!

9. Scary costume or something silly?
Something silly and made by Mom, Dad, or the kids themselves.

10. Still, silent nights or rainy, windblown ones?
Still and Silent.  But a little wind perhaps, And, since I can order the weather, I choose NO rain for the hours of 5pm through 11 pm.


This thing is 12 HOURS long!  Buhahahaha!

11. Hocus Pocus or Halloweentown?
I have NO idea.... Are these movies?  Let me google that....tick tock tick tock....Oooo  "Hocus Pocus".  Kathy Najimy is in it!  She's great!

12. Witches or ghosts?
Witches...  

13. Raking leaves or climbing trees?
I'd kill myself climbing trees so I'll just go with the raking.  I might go rake leaves and bring them home for composting but I got a late start for the deciduous street trees around here.

14. Ouija boards or ghost stories around a campfire?
Ghost stories around the campfire.  

15. Frankenweenie or The Corpse Bride?
"Frankenweenie",  Absolutely.  I own "Corpse Bride". Maybe we'll watch that tonight. and.... maybe not.  "Nightmare" before Christmas is fun, too!

16. October or November?
I like November because it has three family birthdays in it, and because it has Thanksgiving in it.  Also, sometimes, it's actually cooler than October, which I like for other reasons. 

17. Black cats or owls?
I love Black cats.... so for domesticity,  I pick them.  But actually, I'd love to have a semi-tame pet owl.  It's a wild creature, and I'd never want to tame one, but just have it be around me and enjoy my company, and Whoo whoo on my rooftop at night.  When we were camping, there was a pair or Great Horned Owls that called to each other all night.  Very soothing sound.  

18. Fireplace or candlelight?
I like both and an awful lot.  We have a fireplace but it needs to be rebuilt.  It's useless the way it is.  The guys who built it made it very shallow even though the base slab was a foot deeper.  I was a young mom then and didn't keep an eye on them.

19. Monster movies or their classic novels?
There is no either or in this.  Both are different enough to have artistic merit, I mean when they have it. lol  Having said that Steven King is a case in point.  I read Cujo, and it was so terrifying that I've never read another novel by Stephen King. I don't see how the movie could have outdone that book.  It was horrific. I've read his early short stories but I think he went far too bizarre shortly after that.  I like him as a human being, but ....  I'm in no hurry to meet him. Lol.

20. Carve or paint pumpkins?
I've never painted them, only carved.  I'd love to carve some again maybe, but my ceramic and little plastic foam ones are good enough for me now.  Less stress and less mess.

We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

1. The lyrics tell us the singer is on his way to catch a train and he really wants to be on time. When is the last time you were late for something?  
It was so long ago that I don't remember.  I'm always early for appointments, and when we get together with friends or family, it's always informal so arrival times are not metered, so to speak.

2) He sings he's on his way to meet a woman known for her macaroons. What's your favorite cookie?

I actually love cookies though now, I only eat them on Holidays.  Or, sometimes DH and I take cookies when we go visit my sister and her hubby.  What I mean to say is that it's hard to pick a favorite,  but bar cookies, such as Brownies, Blondies, and regular cookies, like White Chocolate Macadamia nut cookies are probably TOP right now.  

3) His girlfriend's face is so pretty she lights up the city night. How many lights are in the room you're in? How many are switched on?
There are two, and one is broken, awaiting repair.   Since it's 11:45 am, even the good one is not on.

4) This is the rare top 40 tune that prominently features a banjo. Sam has always been crazy about the sound of a banjo. What sound makes you smile? (It doesn't have to be a musical instrument. Think bacon sizzling, church bells, etc.)
I love the sound of a Banjo, and now my banjo playing daughter has mine.  I also love to hear small animals playing, and the sounds they make.  Human babies are included.  I also like my singing bowls -  a lot.  I've got to get another bigger one soon.  These bowls are so calming....     

5) 47 years after their record was a hit, The Stampeders still tour every summer, playing festivals across the US and their native Canada. Do you enjoy live music under the stars? Or would you prefer to be seated in a theater?
I prefer Music under the stars.  When I lived near Redlands, the University Orchestra always had a summer outdoor concert season, and it was terrific.  I started going to their concerts while I was in High School, and have kept it up as much as possible ever since.

6) In 1971, when this song was popular on the radio, detective shows were popular on TV. Mannix, Ironside and Cannon were all in the Top 20. Who is your favorite TV detective?
Father Brown.  I just wish there were more in that series.  The Brits are notorious for cutting off series just when you get really into them.  

7) Also in 1971, the Post Office Department was disbanded as a Cabinet department and became The United States Postal Service. When did you last go to the post office? Were you mailing something? Buying stamps? Picking up a package? Renewing your passport? 
All of the above.  I love the postal service.  
Fie to the Government for virtually privatizing it in 1971.  Total loser in office.....And, though the USPS has a 90% approval rating from the people, Trumpty Dumpty ....another total loser.... wants to finish privatizing it.  The last great social program that benefits ALL of the people, not just the military industrial complex.  A Pox Upon them!

8) Race car legend Jeff Gordon was born in 1971. Do you watch NASCAR?
Not anymore.  I sort of grew out of it.  For me, it's gone the way of the Super Bowl.  

9) Random question -- Do you have a vaccination scar? If so, where is it?

Yes, and it's on my arm.  By the way .... Please, all of you, go get that flu shot?

" A top Trump campaign official requested proposals in 2016 from an Israeli company to create fake online identities, to use social media manipulation and to gather intelligence to help defeat Republican primary race opponents and Hillary Clinton, according to interviews and copies of the proposals.

The Trump campaign’s interest in the work began as Russians were escalating their effort to aid Donald J. Trump. Though the Israeli company’s pitches were narrower than Moscow’s interference campaign and appear unconnected, the documents show that a senior Trump aide saw the promise of a disruption effort to swing voters in Mr. Trump’s favor.

The campaign official, Rick Gates, sought one proposal to use bogus personas to target and sway 5,000 delegates to the 2016 Republican National Convention by attacking Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, Mr. Trump’s main opponent at the time. Another proposal describes opposition research and “complementary intelligence activities” about Mrs. Clinton and people close to her, according to copies of the proposals obtained by The New York Times and interviews with four people involved in creating the documents."

The BIG IDEA to approach Russia had it's germination point it seems... I'm sure it didn't take long for the blandishments from pro-offered secret meetings with Russians became the next step.

George Washington must be rolling in his grave.  John Henry probably wants to shoot himself, and I imagine that Thomas Jefferson will rise up out of his tomb and snatch us all Bald!
