Thankful Thursday: Skywatcher Post and sweet Neva kitty, sleeping

I am thankful for the beauty of Planet Earth, a planet on which all our ancestors, though some admittedly developed greed, vengeance, guile, and  aggression, also developed binocular, color vision.
And, they also did the heavy lifting to develop both Loving Kindness and the appreciation of beauty, and gave us all their endearing habit of making pets out of just any animal that didn't bite too hard.

I want Loving Kindness to win but I know lots and lots of people want that, too.  Here's to US!

May you walk with Beauty all around you...

Knitting report:  I'm getting  one sleeve done a few rows about every other day.  'Tis harder for old hands but not impossible.   Now it looks a little like a grass skirt for a hula dancer, but a braided grass skirt.  I like it.  I also like the color.  I'm a little frightened about getting it finished so that Mr. Z. can wear it.  He made a joke the other day and I thought, "Damn, he's right!  I'd better get this thing done!"

Wolf Report: Our little black dog is showing his age.  He has a mole on the side of his nose now and one on his knee.  I hate moles.  They mark the breaking down of DNA and portend many things unsavory.

What I'm reading:

 I've decided that since I can't find the book I want to read, "Death Comes to Pemberly" by P.D. James, I'm going to read The Red House Mystery by A.A. Milne.  It looks like fun already.   That other one is hiding from me.  I guess it's because I won't watch the movie made from it until I've read the book.  I want to brag that I liked the book better.

This is all stuff and nonescense because that's pretty much what this world has become to me.  "All the world is a stage and every man an actor."  And Shakespeare should know, that is if the Bard really existed and wasn't just Christopher Marlowe, ghostwriting from exile in France. Go France!

The King of the Beasts Meme

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes (or surveys) from every corner of the blogosphere. We Found this gem on a site called “Deviant Art”. It seems to be a blog network for people who think they create art. We stole it from a lady whose handle is Nanacat36. She stated she stole it from EternalWhiteSkies. But that’s as far as we go. Tracing a meme back to its author takes more time than I care to give. It was original 50 questions but it was obviously written by a student. So we cut it and have and changed some questions to be closer to our age group.

1. Would you post a picture of you for us?
A.  I have some pictures on my blog, but don't remember where they are.

2. Would you date an 18-year-old at the age you are now? 
Gee, I don't think so.  I'm geriatric enough to want that person to be an EMT, for goodness sakes.

3. Do you prefer to work with women or men? Why?
A.  I really have no preference.  Men and women bosses I've had have been great with the exception of one absolute TERROR that was a manager at a big local yarn shop.  She was a dragon, a smiler with a knife who liked to take out her unhappiness about the hand she'd been dealt in life on anyone in an inferior position to herself.  Only one bad boss in about ten.  Not so bad at all!

4. Do you have any opposite sex friends?
A.  I used to have scads!  Now practically all my male buddies are dead and their wives as well!  

5. Can you commit to one person?
A. Absolutely.  I made that commitment back in 1963.  It's been the best thing I ever did in life.  I don't know about poor DH but I'm quite happy about it all, even with the terrible pain of losing our first child this month.  What if we'd never met?  None of our children, who are wonderful people, would have existed at all.

6. If you’re married or in a relationship have you ever been tempted to cheat?
A. No.  I've actually adored one other man and thought the world of him but he was never a danger to my marriage.  It was a spiritual connection, sort of like to a pastor who is just a great, great guy.  I hope I've explained this well.

7. Do you think your life will change dramatically before 2018? 
A.  It already has.  This is a whole new uncharted country I am inhabiting.  I'm just living day by day and learning the way.  It's what everyone before me has had to do, and everyone after, too.  Painful, yes, 

8. If the person you are interested in says they like someone else, what would try to sway them?
A.  Id suggest a little bungie jumping to sort of let them know I cared. Not exactly swaying but a whole lot of Banzai screaming, I bet.

9. Are you good at hiding your feelings? 
I kid you not,  I am a Ninja.

11. When was the last time you cried?
Around dinner time.

12. Have you ever fell for someone you didn’t expect to?
A.  I really fell hard in High School for a football and basketball player, all 6'7" of him.  He was a redhead, good student, and lovely.  I, a bookish nerdly girl, didn't stand the chance of an icecube in hell with this guy.  But later, he tried to get my attention.  However, in JC, I was dark, dark, dark at that time of life.  Very Ninja.

13. What is something you have to do tomorrow?
A.  Wake up.  Sit up, eat, and  work puzzles and  read the rest of the Sunday Thieves treasure troves.

14. Name something you dislike about the day you’re having. 
A.  Well, it's a little late in the day for that, since it's 10:30.  I guess I've had a pretty good day because this morning, my lips moved all by themselves.  Poltergeist, you know.  Think I'm kidding?  I'm not.

15. Have you ever wanted more from one of your best friends of the opposite sex?
No, unless it would be to have some more of John's Sphere's but I have three.

16. Have you ever wanted someone you couldn’t have?
Yes, I VERY much want a housekeeper but it's a no go.  I need help cleaning out this place!

17. Who was the last person you talked to before you went to bed last night? 
A. Mr. Z.  We said, "Good Night". 

18. Do you have someone of the opposite sex you can tell everything to?
A. That would be my hubster, Mr. Z.

19. When was the last time that you were jealous in a romance situation? 
When a tall blonde nordic type female came and took over the whole entire student body in 11th grade.  That was the end of any chance I had with my dreamy basketball player.

20. If you had to delete one year of your life completely, which would it be?
A.  Deleting wouldn't solve any problem.  Actually freeze frame and rewind two years would be the best way of dealing with this hell we just went through.  I would make sure that my daughter didn't struggle with indifferent healthcare and jerks for doctors.  I would have paid her bills for a test that would have saved her life.

21. Did you have a good day yesterday? What did you do?
A. I had a terrible day yesterday.  I'm glad the d*mn thing is over.  Today was MUCH MUCH better.

22. If a person you had wished you could have a relationship with for a long time and you suddenly found yourself together alone, what would you be doing right now?
A.  Neither of us would recognize the other, or shall we say, I would but he wouldn't.  I content myself that I've had the life I was meant to have since 1963 at keast, and the rest just wouldn't matter.

23. Do you replay things that have happened in your head?
A.  All the freaking time.  All the time.

24. Don’t tell me lies, is the last person you texted attractive?
A. He  was, in his day, a very gorgeous guy.  Now, he still is a gorgeous guy who looks like Saint Nicholas.  

25. Is your life anything like it was two years ago? Is it a good or bad thing?

A. I'm doing alright.  I want for nothing. And that's a good thing.  No, Martha, you didn't invent that saying.

1) This video shows the boys in the band nervously await an audition. When were you last nervous?
A. It's been so long since I was normal, I just can't remember. When I went to see my doctor a couple of days ago I was practically vibrating and rumbling like a John Deere tractor.

2) BSB Brian Littrell was born with a congenital heart problem and had open heart surgery the year this song was released. Who is the last person you visited in the hospital?
A. I can't remember.  It was probably my mother in law.

3) Littrell had different health trouble in 2009. While working in Japan, he contracted swine flu, which caused the band to cancel several events. Have you battled a cold or flu this summer?
A. Nope, but summer just started.  These things take time, you know.

4) When you feel a cold coming on, what's your favorite remedy?
A. ColdEZE works for me.

5) Brian and his cousin, fellow BSB member Kevin Richardson, are both from Kentucky and have been inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. According to their website, if you tour the Hall of Fame you'll see exhibits that celebrate Kentucky's contribution to American music. Do you enjoy museums? Or do you think they're a snooze?
A.  I really like Art Museums, and there are two in Balboa Park.  But there is also a wonderful Museum of Natural History, as well as a Museum of Photographic Arts there, too.

6) BSB Nick Carter was named one of People magazine's "Most Beautiful People in the World." Who is someone you think is especially gorgeous?
"Beauty is as beauty does."  Always has been true and will be 'til the end of time.  

7) This spring Nick became a father for the first time. Is anyone in your life expecting a baby this year?
A. Nope.

8) The band has been involved in ongoing litigation with their first manager, saying he had been dishonest with them about how much they had earned. Tell us about someone you trusted, but shouldn't have.
I'd rather not say. Besides, you've all heard it already.  Time for looking up.

9) The band's recordbreaking 1999 tour was sponsored by the Sears department store chain. Sam remembers the twice-a-year shopping trips to Sears -- spring and fall -- with her mother to update Sam's school wardrobe. What's the last article of clothing you bought?

A. I just bought some turtle neck silks.  Oh, Sears got the returns since they sell Land's End.

Saturday Komeekz: Snert, adorable Snert...

Hagar, he's pretty funny even if he is horrible and smelly.

I did about five rows of knitting, but of course then discovered a mistake and had  to re-do several.  Happily it's corrected and a few more rows added.  It still looks like a Mushroom.  At least now I know how to knit mushrooms for all the little gnomes to live in.

Oddly enough, my own randomly generated letter was "t", so I'll answer with something that starts with a T.  That is, unless I've read all the instructions badly which has been happening a lot.

1. What brand or model of car, whose name begins with the letter, would you like to get?
A. I would like to have a brand new Toyota truck 4x4, a small one.

2. What summer activity, whose name begins with the letter, are you looking forward to?
A. A Trip somewhere to the far North but not in the traditional summer months because summer lasts into mid October in Cali.

3. What’s an item in your desk whose name begins with the letter?
A. That would be a Teacup.

4. What’s something, whose name begins with the letter, that you find frightening? 
A. Tsunami 

5. If you had to get a tattoo on your upper arm, what’s something whose name begins with the letter that you could live with?

A.  Had to, hmmmm?  I'd probably have a Celtic trinity knot, I could live with that.....or maybe this one....

It's called Surfer Babe I could not find a T named tattoo very easily.
This one fits me though. 

You should see the page it's from.  Makes you wonder just where the hay all those Picts came from, in Scotland.  Sadly, they got wiped out with no clues left behind.

Thankful Thursday: Documentaries that spell things out

I'm very grateful that there are those in the world who will make documentaries about big important entities that ill advisedly hurt rather than help, or worse yet, are using aide as a foot in the door to expand their own markets.

Thankful Thursday, and I'm Grateful to be able to help Animals

In remembrance of Elle, who loved all animals......

No, I never give up.  I'll give up when I'm DEAD!  I'm so grateful for the chance to help, even if just a little......

Humane Society International many, many animals, and also help the kitties and saves thousands of them from going slaughtered for the meat trade, too!

Join me?  I'm now re-dedicating this, as a tribute, to my daughter, who loved animals and especially the kitties.  She asked me to knit booties and mitts and things for the hospital which cared for her.  They have plenty of hats she said.

Anyway, last week (has it only been a week?  I've lost track of time) we saw her confused little cats who slept on her hospital bed when we were there.   There are two loving people there, also, who are also their  humans, so the kitties, two, are not devastated, just probably wondering when she's coming back.

Written for my mother, and now dedicated to my eldest daughter, who died a week ago today.

Laura battled it right up until her last breathe, this un-decorated but recognized genius, using her intellect and amazing analitical mind to the end.  We will miss her for the rest of our existence.  Rest in Peace, our beautiful girl.

Just another Thursday...

I'll be sooooo glad when the weekend is over.

Maybe I'll knit, or maybe not.  But, I did get my arse out the door to visit my sister.  We always have a tech session, over lunch, about the beauties of the iPad and androids devices.  Sometimes we talk plants, which we are both heavily into, as well.

I'm taking a weekend off for sanity, and hopefully some knitting. I have been copying a TON of photos and photo shopping them, so that's that for the eyes for awhile.

Now to upload all the photos to some cloud thinga somewhere.  No, Google, you are my second choice because you don't seem to give a rat's ass how carefully I put them into folders, or all of my mods.  ;p

Anyway, I anticipate that this will take the most time but the programs are smarter than I am, so I must respect them for that.  

  So far, this is what I would have shown you on Friday, which is a day I won't be on line.
