Saturday9 and Sunday Stealing. Yes, a twofer....
First, let's do Saturday9
If you want to join this meme, there is a button in the side bar, or you can click on the header (above) to go on over. It's fun. Give it a spin! The Times of Your Life
The link to the song is in that title up there...*points to the title, The Times of Your Life.*1) This song is all about memories. How far back can you remember? What's your earliest memory? My parent came home from war after being blown up a bit. It was 1944. But that didn't account for bad behavior, He came that way from before.. but, I digress.
I was two years old, and thought some razor blades in my father's open suitcase looked "pretty". After trying to pick them up, I trailed blood all the way down the banister to where my parents and grandparents were, by that time, running up to screaming little me. I can still remember the hurt from the cut, as well as hurt from the surprise that something that pretty could hurt me. I thought my blood was pretty, too but was awfully sure something very bad was happening.
2) The first line is "Good morning, yesterday." What do you remember about yesterday morning? I woke up.
3) This song was originally a 60-second jingle, featured in a commercial for Kodak film. Do you ever use film? Or are all your pictures digital? I would use it if I had my own darkroom. There is nothing like it. I have a35mm Fujika camera that I still fondle from time to time. I love that thing.
4) Who took the most recent photo of you? I did. A selfie of my new short hair.
5) This week's featured artist, Paul Anka, was born in Canada and enjoyed appearing in a made-for-TV Perry Mason movie with fellow Canadian, Raymond Burr. Do you enjoy courtroom dramas? I do. I liked the episodes when the court room was featured in Blue Bloods, for instance. And there are others, too, like "The Guardian". It was interesting because I was once going to become a child advocate. The ferule twins put the kibbosh on that little career. Perry Mason was something I watched with Mother.
6) At 15, Anka won a supermarket contest by collecting the most Campbell soup can wrappers. The prize was a trip to New York. Do you enter contests and sweepstakes? Play the lottery? No, the odds are worse than betting on horse races. My friend once said, "Why not just go throw money off the top of a building and make people happy?"
7) This year Paul Anka performed throughout Florida (Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Clearwater and Fort Myers). The Sunshine State is a popular vacation destination. Do you have a favorite spot in Florida? I would like to visit Smellyann. Where she lives. That's my favorite place in Florida.
8) In 1976, the year this song was on the charts, an earthquake hit China. Have you ever experienced an earthquake? Oh ya, baby, have I ever. This is California.
9) Random question: Do you know CPR? Not the newest kind which is WAY different than the one I know.
And now for...

how are ya today meme
Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from. We also provide a link to the victim's meme in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from this new meme or recently asked questions from a previously featured meme.
Cheers to all of us thieves!!!
How Are Ya Today Meme
Stolen from: Love me some surveys
Okay, here we go. How are ya today? Pretty much I'm the same as I was yesterday, but since my DD more or less threatened to hang me by my neck until I cheered up, I've been looking at the brighter side, and remembering what all my pet dogs have taught me, which is to stick your head out the car window, let your tongue flop in the breeze, and enjoy the ride.
1. Have you ever been so happy you felt invincible? No, that's for the movies. Real life is a lot different than that. Now, living for the moment is the thing....
2. Would you ever refer to something as ‘bitter sweet’? Many times, and a lot of music talks about it. Music being as important as the air I breathe to me, I tend to like it to be like real life, in other words, bitter sweet.
3. Is there a person in this world you don’t think you could ever figure out? Yes. I have a hard time talking to this person because I just don't know what to say, or if I say something it might make things worse. Doesn't everyone have some like that in their life? My father in law was like that, too.
4. When was the last time you were freaked out? About two and a half weeks ago. I'm calmer now.
5. Do you learn from ‘every’ mistake you make? I hardly ever make the same mistake twice, so yes, mostly I do.
6. Do you sometimes think that you’re too nice? I don't think someone can be too nice. What they can be is someone's goat because they keep that person in their life even after an intentional attack that harms either mentally or physically or even spiritually. Get away and stay away, especially if there is a child involved.
7. Is there something you’re dying to tell someone? No. I'm talked out.
8. Do you think you have a unique name? No
9. Do you usually try to find the good in people? Always. I just don't know any other way to live. However, don't let anyone hurt you or your children, ever! Get them out of your life and don't look back.
10. Do you look back on embarrassing moments and laugh about them? Probably have done this a lot, since I'm human, but can't remember any at the moment.
11. Have you ever laughed just to save yourself from humiliation? You'd have to define humiliation.
12. What are you doing in 2 hours? God, I hope I'm asleep.
13. What is the last thing you ate? Something called an Aussie Bite, which is very delicious and loaded with tiny seeds and nuts.
14. Do you love your job? I love what I do. I just wish I were better at it. If I live long enough everything might be made clearer and more effective.
15. When is the last time you showered? A week ago.
16. Who is the last person you texted? My DD. My Little Bird. I wish we could drink some nice tea together and watch the sun come up....
17. When is the last time you were in a hospital? Part of March and April of 2014. I had a mad texting session with the DD's. April fools stuff. very fun!!
A wonderful pastor came by and he, DH and I talked about so many things. One thing the Minister said that really stuck, was to throw out your line and leave it there, meaning, ask for something, and let the Lord handle it his way. Stop fishing. So I have. Then we all prayed for me to be safe in the hands of my surgical team. So, for this new thing, I've thrown out my line and left it there. I've stopped fishing.
18. The last time you went out to eat, what did you order? We went to Point Loma Seafood and had fish and chips with slaw. Saw a beautiful peach sky at the boat basin.
19. Do you tend to have a lot of those moments where you forget something that you wanted to say? A lot of times I forget what I wanted to think about.
20. How long have you known the last person you text messaged? Nearly 52 years. God willing, we'll meet again, soon, on her birthday.
21. Will this week be a good one? As good as I can make it. Since I don't drink I've been thinking seriously about getting Valium, prescribed or otherwise, or even weed for that matter. My doctor will prescribe it for me.
22. Anything happen to you within the past month that made you really happy? Sorry, no, but the threat of being hung by the neck, aka Monty Python, until I cheer up sort of does make me happier. Anyway, that is said in all seriousness, as it does have a dampening effect on wailing and on expressions like, "Mon Dieu!", and, "Why is this happening!!!". I remember the Mayor in " The nightmare Before Christmas" and can do a damned good imitation of his caterwauls.
23. Do you prefer to take showers at night or in the morning? I prefer the afternoon when the hot water circulates in the pipes.
24. Have you been to New York City? Never had the pleasure. I have, however been to San Francisco many times. I love that place, Even when stuck in traffic, So close to my heart, it is. I'd gladly live a little north of there. Or south. or east. West of it is too wet.
Well bye for now. I'll try very hard to visit everyone, Take care, and I hope you have a nice week.
Found this on the netbook, and don't know where it came from. but it'd pretty. And you know, I love "pretty things"

Can I have a Snickers bar instead? Friday5
Hello, and welcome to this week’s Friday 5! Please copy these questions to your webspace. Answer the questions there; then leave a comment below, so we’ll all know where to check out your responses. Please don’t forget to link us from your website!
- What’s the Good News? No news is good news?
- When did you last Take 5, and how did you spend it? We spent it Geocaching. Fun but no cigar.
- Who’s a Big Hunk? I'd say George Clooney, but he's taken.
- In what way has this week been a Rocky Road? Ill pass...
- I missed this! Or maybe not.
- What’s something you’re keeping Skor on? The darn numbers on the left side. What's up with that?!
I'm pretty sure that I can't link from the website because I'm doing this meme on a tablet not built for ease of web use. But what the hectare, I'll give it a fling.
10% Human, the book
"Dr Derrick MacFabe began his medical training in neuroscience and psychiatry.
During high school, he had worked with children with special needs, many of whom were autistic and had gastrointestinal (GI) problems. Later, whilst working as a qualified doctor at a hospital, MacFabe encountered patients with GI troubles who were deemed crazy or neurotic, and sent to the psychiatry ward instead. He also treated a patient who, like Miss A in Belgium, was admitted for sudden psychosis and was thought to be schizophrenic. But his GI symptoms gave away the true cause of his illness."
I think all persons who are struggling with diagnosis' should read what this amazing book sets forth so clearly. We owe it to ourselves.
I'm thankful this book fell into my hands at just this moment. It is a vindication of my daughter's long, arduous struggle to make sense of what was happening to her mind and body as she fell more ill. She had only part of the picture but she was right! The gut biomass has tremendous influence on our whole well being.

Beautiful Flower sources on the web...
Firstly, just type "Beautiful Flowers" into Pinterest's search engine, and see what you get.
And, then, do the same at Google. Eye popping!
This one is a white rose, with the stem split into four lengths. Each color comes from letting the rose drink from four differently colored water containers. All food colors so safe around children.
May you walk with beauty all around you.

Knitting added
The part on the right is done. Now I just have to knit the other side from the long ribbing (thank heavens that is done) and block and seam. Ill show the beginning of the first cap tomorrow as soon as the girls send me the size.
There was a smudging ceremony for our daughter a couple of weeks ago. Sweetgrass. It smelled so gentle. Good. Thank you, Great Spirit for the knowledge of it.
Duh me
I found, yesterday, that the two sweater fronts were not finished - as I'd thought- so I did finish the left and am binding it off this AM, and starting the pattern knitting on the right front today. Hopefully it is done tomorrow so the sweater can be blocked and sewn the following day. It was so disappointing. At least it is truly the last piece this time!
And, I know the pattern like the back of my hand again.
The pictures are on the iPhone which doesn't play well with the Kindle, or I'd be posting a photo.
We are awaiting news from the North.
Also I'm reading this book

Think about it....
A male street dog in India digs an hour- old human baby out of a trash pile. The dog takes the baby in his mouth and carries it to a nearby building and lays the baby down by the door. He sits there and cries until someone comes to the door.
There is no Higher power that cares?
I'm going to be knitting as fast as I can for a beloved daughter who is to undergo chemo, and I will only blog about knitting and post pictures of what ever catches my eye. Sorry if I didn't visit your blogs this week. You are dear to me and a wish you all the best in life, a life that can sometimes be so very cruel. But sometimes Life is very beautiful, too. Keep looking for it.
May you walk with beauty all around you. Thanks for reading here. Colt, you are on my prayer list as well. Stay strong!

World Pangolin Day, and Saturday9
Yes, this amazing, and adorable little ball of Scales is a Mammal, just like Mama. They are highly endangered.
And now for something completely different.
Sixteen Tons, the song.... Hear it HERE
1) 16 tons = 32,000 pounds, because there are 2,000 lbs. to a ton. Without looking it up, do you know how many ounces are in a pound?
There are 16. I'm a cook, so know all the way down to three teaspoons and all the way up to a gallon. But I'm also old and find metric a big pain in the *ss. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot long wooden spoon.
2) The singer describes himself as having "a mind that's weak and a back that's strong." Think about yourself. Which feels more powerful today, your body or your brain?I can't say. I just don't know. Maybe they are equal? But I am having a hulluva time thinking at the moment, sorry. I am already working on half a wit. lol
3) The poor chap in this song has money troubles. Are you good at sticking to your budget?Very good. I save up for stuff. I may never know what that stuff will be, but the money's there if I find something. I just bought a lantern made in America, from Amazon. All the other stuff just is looking like shabby Chic all of a sudden. I liked it but it was well, too shabby? Anyway, the little thing is going to be here today.
4) Tennessee Ernie Ford snapped his fingers as he recorded this song. It's been said that while it's possible to snap your fingers of both hands, the noise is louder with your "dominant hand." (So if you're a rightie, the finger snap will be louder with your right hand.) Try it yourself. Did you find this to be true?I can't snap the fingers on my "dominant" hand. I can snap them loudly on my extra hand. I save the dominant hand for my knitting. I've been asked to make some chemo caps, which were anticipated, and thus the purchase of some beautiful Cashmere yarns. And I'm finishing the pink Stardust, only have to block it and seam it.
Colors are a rich deep purple and Deep Torquise
5) Mr. Ford appeared as "Cousin Ernie" in three episodes of I Love Lucy. What's your all-time favorite sitcom?Until "Big Bang Theory" came along, it was "Major Dad".
6) Tennessee Ernie took the money he made from his performing career and invested in a California cattle ranch. Think back to the last beef your ate. How was it prepared? The last beef I ate was sustainable, free range, and was prepared on a grill at home. That was about three years ago. Then we found free ranged Bison, from Indian lands, and they have happy lives. Tasty!
7) Mr. Ford passed away at age 72 in 1991. That year, Dr. Seuss also died. What's your favorite Dr. Seuss book?"Green Eggs and Ham" Seuss was a lot of fun to read to the kids. Not so tasty, I reckon.
8) Gene Roddenberry also died that year. Mr. Roddenberry is best known as the creator of Star Trek. Who is your favorite Star Trek character?Just one? You are so darn strict!
Ok, I'll try. I really liked Bones, because he was always teasing Spock. And, I also liked Data, a lot.
9) Random question: We're having smoothies. What's your favorite?
I'll make a banana Mango Strawberry with vanilla soy milk.
Thanks, Sam, for this fun meme every Saturday. I look forward to it, come rain or come shine. So, keep 'em coming, Please!

Tuesday Tails: Oh that Pickles!
Wolfie report: once got under my chair foot rest, during Fourth of July right after we adopted him. He's gradually gotten over most of his loud noise fear, but there are still things here and there that disturb him. A reader warned me that I needed to be careful and had a horrible story about an accident. So, if you have pups that can fit under those things, be sure not to close it on them. We don't need any more sadness in this life than gets randomly handed out to us when we check ourselves through the "IN" door, at birth.
Wolfie, snuggled up in his very favorite place
The tort report: The big tortoises are still in hibernation but they will be out very soon. I don't think we'll be getting any late February Killer frosts but we have had them recently. The babies bask in the sunlight during the day, though we did put them through a short "hibernation" at the beginning of the winter, just to sort of ready them. Now, that they are outside during the day, we bring them in at night because they can't be out in temperatures less than 55F. In the morning they get to go back out and dig in the dirt and eat the grasses in their little enclosure.
Arizona Fish and Game has a lovely WEBPAGE about their Sonoran Desert Tortoises, and the BLM across all the Lower Western States has very strict rules about them. Now that the preserves are in place, we can hope that they all, both Sonoran and the newly named Gopherus morafkai will all be safer and go unmolested about their little lives. There is actually another sub species, and Poko Ono belongs to it, that hasn't been formally acknowledged yet. Since her babies are hybrids, they aren't as hardy. She is Coastal, and Churchy is definitely from the Mojave species. One of the visiting veterinarians told us this at a weigh in at a pre-hibernation meeting of the Turtle and Tortoise Society.

The link below takes you right back to Sunday Stealing. Have a go! It's a fun Meme!
Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme.
Let's go!!!

What's Love got to do with it? Hollywooooood! Saturday9
That sweet Pink header goes to Saturday9 for this week. Come on a long, come on a long.....
Warning LABELS!! I am in a terrible, AWFUL Mood, but it's clearly not PMS
Saturday 9: The Theme from Love Story (1970)
In honor of Valentine's Day. Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) The very popular tagline for this movie is, "Love means never having to say you're sorry." Here's your chance to rewrite it. "Love means _____________________."
"Love means everything, because who ever has loved much will be forgiven much."
2) The movie was famous for a montage of the lovers frolicking in the snow. Do you enjoy sledding, skating, skiing, snowball fights, snowmen, etc.? Or do you just want spring to hurry up and get here?
I like all that frolicking for about as long as it takes for the nose and toes to feel frostbitten. Then I want to go have a mug of hot chocolate in front of a nice warm fire... or, just drive down the mountain and back to where it's warmer.
3) In the movie, Oliver asks his father for $5,000. The money is required for wife Jenny's hospital treatment, but Oliver is too proud to tell his father why he needs it. Adjusted for inflation, $5,000 in 1970 is $30,000 today. How much would you be willing to lend a friend or family member without knowing the reason?
A couple of grand. But if I knew the reason, I'd just make it a gift. And family would get as much as they needed as long as we don't have to reverse mortgage the house, but even then, it might happen. The reason, though, is imperative.
4) In the movie, Jenny is the daughter of a baker who owns a little shop in Cranston, Rhode Island. Think of the last baked goods you consumed. Were they home made? Did you buy them from a bakery, the grocery store, or a coffee shop, like Starbucks?
I ate a slice of pie at Christmas Eve. It came from Costco, I think. I will only eat a wheat product (the crust)on a holiday, and not very much of it.
5) In 1970, when the movie was first released, California's First
How free can I be about how I feel about Nancy Reagan? I SO hate whiners!
Is that husband stealing Wench still alive? Oh d**m. She should worry about swearing in public? She was good at it in private so I'm told. Incidentally, I don't f***king swear - Not much anyway, and mostly at supercilious politicians who get between a woman and her doctor! Meow! Meow! Meow!

Awesome Womanly Warrior from HERE I hope she goes after Cancer now!
6) Now 75, Ali MacGraw has let her famous hair go gray. She says she's glad to "look like a grown up." Do you feel your age? Or older or younger than your years?
I've only dyed my hair once and got raves but really, it was too much work. My ancient shoulder joints told me about my vanity for WEEKS! Ali MacGraw is older than I am? Holy Methusela! And, no, I'm not feeling my age, I'm feeling my oats! I only feel old as I am when I: A. Try to get out of a chair, or B., Look into a mirror.
7) MacGraw and her Love Story co-star Ryan O'Neal are currently on tour in the play, Love Letters, and they're drawing big crowds of fans who remember them in their famous film. Tell us of another movie couple you felt had romantic chemistry.
I'm sorry. I'm a realist. This comes from having read that Clark Gable had such bad halitosis that his leading lady could barely stand being close to him.
8) Red is the signature color of Valentine's Day. Are you wearing red right now?
Holy crabs! It's not Valentine's Day today is it? No, I'm not.
9) Because Valentine's Day is such a big day for chocolate ... would you prefer a large, solid milk chocolate heart or a small box of four assorted chocolates?
Only four? And they are little? I want four large, solid dark chocolate hearts in a fairly large box. Please?

For Stacy.... some of my jewelry
wire wrapped fire agate
I tried a search of my blog to find these but couldn't. They've all "debuted" here. One of the Dichroic glass drops didn't appear on a search of my photos, but it's somewhere on the blog, too.
Some are simple earrings that anyone can do, so you should go for it! The very bottom was made in my kiln, and more complex.
I can't find the photo of some others that were made in my kiln. I guess I just didn't photograph them because the better cameras were not in my hands at that time! Now, the phone camera and the little Canon SLR and even smaller Canon Point and shoot just made life a whole lot easier.
Ok, something I'm thankful for, at last. Cameras that are lots easier and cheaper to use.
Karen, if you can't see these, I can email then all to you. Just please let me know. I would enjoy sharing them if you can't find them on the blog. You are much better at finding things than I am. I think of you as a wizard. ;o)
